Summer Consignment + Store Update
When are we re-opening?
COVID-19 Temporary Closure Update
That is the big question that we all have! I wish I could give an exact date that we will be able to re-open. Based on the new guidance in the Safe Start WA issued by Governor Inslee, Two Big Blondes will remain closed until at least early June. Once Seattle moves into "Phase 2," I will announce our re-opening plans.

At that time, in order to maintain a safe shopping environment for our customers and staff, I will announce new in-store shopping & consignment policies in compliance with Gov. Inslee's Retail Operations Requirements.

Normally this time of year I would be announcing the dates of our June Birthday Sale. Since it's a special sale and celebration of my own birthday, I will still come up with some way to share the fun, so stay tuned for that too!

Summer Consignment
When we begin to take consignment again, we will be looking for light-weight items so that we can be ready for summer when we are able to re-open.

If you want to make an appointment for consignment drop-off, please email me. I'll keep you on the wait list and will contact you when we're able to start scheduling consignment drop-off appointments. We will have NEW consignment policies, which will be announced prior to your appointments.

In the meantime, check out my list of consignment best practices with a variety of topics covered including:
  • Seasonality
  • Cleaning tips
  • Top-selling items
  • Preparing your order
  • Donations
  • Saying goodbye
Seattle Women's Assistance Fund Toiletry Donations
As I mentioned last time, we've been able to distribute close to 200 toiletry kits, primarily through neighborhood church meal programs, serving Central Area neighbors in need.

I've received another request for about 30 kits, but don't quite have enough supplies to fulfill that request.

Please let me know if you have new, unused toiletries, including: travel-size hair & body products, toothbrushes (we have plenty toothpaste & dental floss) & deodorant. We can arrange a no-contact drop off.

Another way to help is to make a cash donation through PayPal and I will purchase the missing supplies.

THANK YOU for your support of our neighbors through this crisis through Seattle Women's Assistance Fund!!
Masks for You & Others
Two Big Blondes is honored to have been a very small part of the massive effort of Crafters Against Covid-19 Seattle to create & donate over 35,000 masks! Watch this beautiful video made by TBB customer/friend & CAC19 neighborhood captain Jeny Bird about the project.

King County recently issued a directive strongly urging face coverings in all indoor public places including grocery stores and other businesses, as well as outside settings where maintaining six feet of social distancing is difficult. Here are several ways to purchase cloth masks from local, woman-owned small businesses:

  • Splash Fabrics is featuring a buy-one, give-one mask option, plus they also support Crafters Against Covid-19 Seattle with fabric donations.
  • Alter Ego Expressions was created by a local artist who has turned her artwork into fabric prints and is making some amazing masks - classic or gater style!
  • KFLY, an awesome size-inclusive & sustainable fashion designer out of Seattle, is making masks that tie at the back of the neck for a day off for your ears
  • Copper Union is a plus-size designer out of Portland making fitted cloth masks - new designs uploaded each day!
We'll keep in touch as we know more about re-opening our store! The Governor's current orders are to remain temporarily closed until at least May 31st. Stay tuned, stay healthy, stay home & keep in touch! - Lisa
