I have heard about many of our teachers going above and beyond to connect with their students and to keep distance learning interesting. Many are having regular videoconference meetings with their students, like Meaghan King, a teacher from Herbert Slater Middle School (pictured above). She invited her daughter, her dogs, and a horse named Mike to one of her class meetings! Seeing the connections fills me with gratitude and appreciation for our teachers!
This week, May 4-8, is Teacher Appreciation Week and Substitute Teacher Appreciation Week. May 6th is National School Nurse Day. At our last Board of Education meeting, our school board adopted resolutions to honor these professionals.
Who are you appreciating this week? A kind email note, a sign in a window, or a word of thanks on a conference call, can show a teacher or a school nurse that you appreciate them. Let's all recognize these professionals who give so much to our children and our community.
