Vote Alachua Update
May 2020
From the Supervisor

I hope this message finds you well and in good spirits.

Our office began the process of reopening on Monday, May 18, with social distancing and other procedures in place.

As follows are some of the safety procedures our office is implementing:

  • For the safety of members of the public and employees, the office will require individuals who enter the building to wear a mask or face covering and have their temperature taken.
  • If an individual's temperature is above 100.0°F, the office will make alternative arrangements to provide services. These individuals will not be permitted entrance into the building.
  • The lobby area of our office, where members of the public receive services, will be restricted to two customers at a time.

Though our physical office will be open, I still encourage candidates, voters and other members of the public to receive services remotely — through our website, email and phone — when possible.

All of the functions of our office — including registering to vote, updating registration information or signing up for vote-by-mail ballots — can be performed online at VoteAlachua.com, by email at  [email protected] , or by phone at 352-374-5252.

I wrote in my May Gainesville Sun column that elections during these times will require flexibility. I encourage you to read it by clicking here .

As always, I encourage you to reach out to me at [email protected] if you have any questions.

Yours in Service,
Kim A. Barton

With a 59 percent response rate, Alachua County is outpacing the statewide rate of 57.1 percent — but it's vitally important we work to get to 100 percent!
