NSU Appoints Michael Mominey to First Cross-Disciplinary Role as Associate VP of Advancement

NSU is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Mominey to Associate Vice President of Advancement. Currently, he serves as NSU’s Director of Athletics and will retain those duties while stepping into this new role.

NSU's Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine Earns Top 20 Ranking 

The NSU Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine earned a top 20 ranking in the latest U.S. News & World Report’s Best Medical Schools report in the most graduates practicing primary care category.

NSU Distinguished Alumnus Named 2021 Excellence in Healthcare Honoree 

Dr. Dave Lacknauth, an NSU Distinguished Alumnus and graduate of NSU's College of Pharmacy, was named a 2021 Excellence in Healthcare Honoree by South Florida Business & Wealth. He is currently the Executive Director of Pharmacy Services and System Integration at Broward Health. 

NSU Changing Lives Scholarship Helps Students Continue Education During Pandemic

The most recent 2021 Honors College Changing Lives Scholarship was awarded to an undergraduate student in the NSU Farquhar Honors College – Kristin Rodriguez. Kristin is a third-year student at NSU who is studying to receive her bachelor’s in psychology with a global engagement minor and honors trans-disciplinary minor.

NSU Student and University School Teacher Named 2021 STUEY Alumnus of the Year

This year, the 2021 STUEY Alumnus of the Year was awarded to Wilford Miranda, a 2019 alumnus of NSU. Wilford is currently an NSU University School teacher and Master of Science Education student at NSU. He is extremely dedicated to education and making a difference in the lives of his students – a feature he believes set him apart from other nominees.

HCAS Doctoral Alumna is Named First Executive Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Eastern Mennonite University

Jacqueline N. Font-Guzmán, J.D., Ph.D., graduate of the doctoral program in the Department of Conflict Resolution Studies (DCRS) in the Halmos College of Arts and Sciences and Guy Harvey Oceanographic Research Center (HCAS) has been named the first Executive Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Eastern Mennonite University.

The Carter Project’ on View May 15 at NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale
May 15, 2021-January 9, 2022

Christopher Carter's 2020 innovative architectural assemblage located in Miami’s North Wynwood neighborhood, is the subject of a new exhibition opening May 15 at NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale. The Carter Project examines what Carter describes as “the largest, most comprehensive functional structure I ever dreamed to make.” The exhibition is curated by NSU Art Museum Director and Chief Curator Bonnie Clearwater.

NSU Partners With Real Estate Company Ceiba Groupe to Offer Students and Alumni Real-World Experience in Art and Communications

NSU and South Florida-based real estate company Ceiba Groupe partnered with students, alumni, and faculty in the Halmos College of Arts and Sciences on a community mural project at a residential property located in downtown Davie. The collaboration features original artwork by an Art + Design student and alumni that is being documented by Communication majors using multimodal storytelling techniques.


NSU Researcher Part of Team to Sequence the Genome of the Leopard

An international team involving scientists from Nova Southeastern University (NSU), Nottingham Trent University, the University of Cambridge, University of Leicester in U.K. and the University of Potsdam in Germany carried out the genetic analysis of modern and historical specimens stored in natural history museums as part of the study on leopards.
