It's finally here! Our Virtual Benefit Auction begins this Saturday, May 1st. We've been planning this event for weeks, and are excited to see it go live. Join in on the fun and bid for some of the great items on the auction this year. 100% of the proceeds benefit our programs in the community. With no in-person Fundraising events in our foreseeable future, we need your help! We've included a preview and easy ways to access the auction below.
Next in the issue, we're sharing some of our year-to-date achievements. We have updates for you in certification, programs, and partnerships. Plus we've included some great Participant testimonials and creations for you to enjoy.
We're proud of our achievements, but we're always looking for ways to improve. On that note, we're excited to announce a new offering: Art4Healing® at Home. Now, you can order one of our signature workshops with supplies in a convenient kit. We'll ship it to you to enjoy in your space, at your pace. Read more about this program and order below.

First Quarter Achievements
Fulfilling our Mission as the community re-opens.
|
|
As the community continues to re-open, we wanted to bring you up to speed on our year-to-date achievements. Here are some first-quarter highlights:
Our Art4Healing® Certification programs are thriving. We re-started our Brandman Art4Healing® Certification program this spring, via Zoom for the first time. Our spring session quickly reached capacity and is ongoing, and we're accepting new applications for the summer session. So far, the Zoom platform has been a resounding success. We're also continuing to add students to our Art4Healing® International Online Certification program. We've enrolled and graduated students from across the country to across the world!
Our Partnerships continue to grow in unique ways. This quarter we announced a nationwide partnership with the Modern Widows' Club, an organization helping women in all loss-circumstances in widowhood to lean into life and build resilience through mentoring, awareness, and advocacy. Modern Widow's Club will be using our curriculum to help their members express feelings when words fail.
Our Programs for teens have been growing since the start of the year. Where guidelines and distancing have allowed, we've been able to provide in-person workshops to dozens of youths. We're particularly proud of the work we're doing with trafficked teens, troubled teens in the OC ACCESS program, and youth from the OC Rescue Mission. |

Since 2017, we've produced an annual Special Report that dives deeper into aspects of the Art4Healing® Method.
Our Special Reports are long reads, backed up by research and our 20 years of experience. They cover timely topics that can be referred back to year after year.
This year, our Special Report will focus on the various mental health benefits of expressive art. We feel this topic is more important than ever, given the heath and other crises of the past year.
We hope to have our 2021 report completed sometime in the second quarter of the year, so stay tuned.

Can't make it to our studio? We are proud to offer the only globally recognized Art4Healing® Certification, exclusively available online.
To become certified online, students experience and complete Art4Healing® workshops and assignments through an online platform within a timeline of 9 months (or less).
Students are matched with an Art4Healing® Coach who will answer questions and review his/her assignments and facilitated workshops.
Since the program's inception, we've graduated 15 new Certified Art4Healing® Facilitators. These graduates are spreading Art4Healing® to their communities, from New Zealand to Canada to right here in Orange County, California.

In every age, art does a significant amount of work. On a trip to the Portland Art Museum last year, I walked around a corner to be faced with a stunning piece by one of my favorite artists, James Lavadour. I was speechless. I spent 20 minutes looking at it from far away, and close up, and closer. I was transformed into a better version of myself, one who can be calm, who can look, and who can live inside a moment and find peace. It was powerful.
As I walked through the museum, I started to think of some of the other things art does for us. From teaching us how to see in linear perspective, to letting everybody know who is in power, the jobs of Art (with a capital A) are many and diverse...
