The deadline for the Kohler Scholarship application for fall 2021 is June 15. If you already have a recommendation submitted by your rector, there is no need to submit another. All applications should be emailed to kohlerfamilyscholarship@gmail.com.

In announcing the 2022 funding cycle, the Mission Funding Committee seeks to invest in concrete and courageous missional partnerships responding to real human needs and concerns in our communities and neighborhoods.

Whenever appropriate, applicants are encouraged to demonstrate how the proposed mission initiative includes some type of partnership between the community and a congregation. These grants are not intended for ongoing operational support of a parish.

To simplify the application process, applications may now be completed online via Google Forms. The application for Congregations is here, and the application for Agencies & Organizations is here. These Google Forms mesh seamlessly with gmail, and we encourage you to open a gmail account to complete the application if you do not already have one. Please contact missionfunding@episcopalky.org if you would like to have an application emailed to you directly.

If you do not have access to the technology to complete this application online, please format your responses according to the appropriate application found on the Mission Funding webpage of the Diocesan website and submit your completed application to missionfunding@episcopalky.org or mail it to:

Katherine Doyle has been working with Jenifer Gamber (author of My Faith, My Life), Sharon Pearson, and Jamie MartinCurrie developing a hybrid confirmation curriculum using both Jenifer’s book and The Way of Love.

The curriculum is entitled C.R.E.A.T.E which stands for connect, read, experience, act, take my turn, and engage. We are piloting the program this spring with 4 parishes and 4 Dioceses. The Diocese of Kentucky is one of the pilot Diocese. At this time there is no cost for the program.

Nashville artist Kory Caudill partners with diverse team on transformative, timely project. Concerts for the Human Family, a new artistic collaboration led by The Episcopal Church and Presiding Bishop Michael Curry that explores “the powerful intersection between art, justice and faith,” will launch May 22 with a free digital broadcast filmed at Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral.

In celebration of Earth Day, The Episcopal Church’s Office of Government Relations is pleased to announce a new Creation Care newsletter series on climate change impacts and policy solutions. This resource examines the importance of the Paris Agreement, land use decisions, climate migration, the energy transition, and a green recovery as lenses to explore the far-reaching impacts of climate change and our role as Christians to respond to this crisis. The Episcopal Church’s Office of Government Relations has developed a toolkit for individuals, congregations and ministries to facilitate and promote COVID-19 vaccine distribution in the United States. This toolkit promotes the ongoing work that parishes and dioceses have already been doing, shares best practices, and offers ideas for ways that communities can help U.S.- based Episcopalians to facilitate vaccination, overcome vaccine hesitancy, and find information from state and local officials. Churches and church leaders (lay and ordained) can serve as an important trusted bridge between public health officials and communities. Read more (In English and Spanish) here.

St. John’s, Murray has called the Rev. Zebulun Treloar to serve as Rector and Campus Minister. Fr. Treloar currently serves as assisting priest at the Cathedral of St. Paul in Des Moines, Iowa. and will begin at St. John’s on June 6.

The Rev. Allison Mackenzie Cowgill has accepted a two-point appointment to serve as Priest-in-charge of Grace Church, Massies Mill, and St. Mark’s, Clifford, in the Diocese of Southwestern Virginia. Her last day serving as assistant priest at St. Luke’s, Anchorage was April 25.
