RECYCLING OPTIONS
Do you wish you could recycle more materials than our current services allow? A new service is coming to town to help us out with that. Ridwell, Inc. provides recycling services for items like light bulbs, household batteries, plastic film, clothing shoes, other textiles and many more.

We have invited a rep from the company to tell us more about it at our May 11 meeting. If you can't wait, here's a link to learn more and indicate your interest in the service. Ridwell Link
NEW DESIGN for WAYPOINT PARK

Design elements for this next phase of a downtown park development include a new waterfront trail, overlooks, seating areas, and shoreline planting, flexible lawn space, a restroom building, and opportunities for art are also planned. Comments and questions are invited. Feedback on the conceptual design images for this next phase of the park will be considered as design and permitting continues through the end of this year.

A presentation can be accessed here: Waypoint
TRANSPORTATION SURVEY
The Whatcom Council of Governments has asked to share a survey. The survey has been developed to assist in the 2022 update to our region's Transportation Plan.

You can take the SURVEY here.
CNA Website Content

As we build our new CNA Website, we need to reach out to our Cordata neighbors for some help.

One of the pages of our website will be a resource page for the HOA/COA communities in Cordata. We would like to offer a site for neighborhoods to post news and events and to celebrate what makes each neighborhood special. We also would like this page to be a resource for Board members to find and share resources and ideas with other neighborhood Board members.

To that end, we have been trying to locate contact information from current Board members in our Cordata communities so we can reach out to see whether this resource page would be of interest to them.

So, we are asking for your help. If you live in one of the following communities, please send an email to k8mcdonald1016@gmail.com to give us the name of your Board president or other officer with an email address. We very much appreciate your help.

Cordata is the first neighborhood group to fund scholarships — 14 and counting!
WCC students are benefitting from the formation of a scholarship fund by the Cordata Neighborhood Association.

The effort was the first of its kind to lift up neighborhood students — especially incoming Meridian High School graduates — and was spearheaded by WCC Foundation Board Director Beverly Jacobs.

“Our neighborhood takes pride in the fact that individuals in our community are willing to contribute what they can to help other people to better themselves with an education. So far, we are the only neighborhood association to do this. We are very, very proud of these students.”

Since 2016, the Cordata Neighborhood Association has raised just shy of $40,000 for WCC students, and has supported 14 scholarship recipients, with more to come.
