Book cover of The House Across the Lake by Riley Sager

The House Across the Lake by Riley Sager *NEW! Coming June 21*

Lizzy says:

This is a psychological thriller in the same vein as Rear Window and The Girl on the Train, but just when you think it's the same old tired trope again, the story turns on its head and will leave you shocked and doing a double take!

One of the most unexpected twists in a thriller I've seen in awhile.

This Golden State by Marit Weisenberg

Felicia says:

Poppy Winslow, her younger sister, and two parents have been on the run for as along as Poppy can remember. Each time someone gets too close, the family packs up, moves to another state and changes their names. 17-year-old Poppy really starts to question who her parents are, why they are on the run, and what happens when she turns 18 in a month.

A perfect coming-of-age story with a bit of mystery. While this is a YA book, I think that adults would almost appreciate the story more.

Book cover of The Night Shift by Alex Finlay

The Night Shift by Alex Finlay

Liz says:

While working the night shift at Blockbuster Video on New Year’s Eve 1999, three teenage girls and the manager are murdered, one girl survives. Fifteen years later in the same town, three teenage girls are murdered working the night shift at an ice cream shop, one girl survives. Is the original killer back or is there a new murderer in town? This compulsively readable thriller takes us through multiple characters’ points of view to catch a killer.

A fantastic book for the beach or just relaxing in your backyard, you won’t want to put it down.

Book cover of It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey

It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey

Suzie says:

When an out-of-control rooftop party lands fashionable wild child Piper Bellinger in the slammer, her stepfather sends Piper and her sister to learn some responsibility running their late father’s dive bar in a coastal Washington town.

Piper is determined to prove everyone wrong by renovating the bar, reconnecting with family, and perhaps finding a little romance with the gruff fisherman Brendan. There is no denying the heat simmering between the unlikely pair. Hot and sultry… this is the perfect beach book to turn up the heat on your summer reading!
