Hot Farm Podcast

The Food & Environment Reporting Network has launched a new podcast about farmers, food and climate change, called Hot Farm.

Although the podcast is out of the U.S., its topics and themes are pertinent to us in Canada too.
As the podcast's trailer shares, “if we’re serious about fighting climate change, we have to involve farmers.”
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Food Advertising

Zabiha Halal, the top Halal brand in Canada, has launched a campaign to tackle Islamophobia and offer Muslim Canadians a platform to share their stories and experiences.

A cornerstone of the campaign is a short video in which Muslim Canadians answer the question, “If you had one thing you’d like to tell the rest of Canada about being a Muslim in Canada, what would it be?”

This Canadian Grocer article explains that the campaign is an example of how brands today are most interested in connecting with consumers about issues and concerns that are important to them, rather than a traditional hard sell of product advertising.
