Maintaining Your Vegetable Garden For Spring
Here are some tips and tricks you can follow to take care of your garden this month:
- Install rain barrels under spouts to catch rain water to supply to your plants.
- Not a fan of grass cutting? Enlarge your vegetable garden instead.
- Opening the centre of fruit trees allows for better air circulation. Continue cleaning up trees and shrubs by removing dead or broken branches.
- Plant a few rows of gladiolus bulbs for added colour and beauty.
- Involve children in gardening by planting quick-sprouting seeds. Most children may wish to join in the gardening experience when they see how easily the seeds sprout.
- Activity: Have children sow a row of colourful radishes. Most seeds will sprout in a few days and mature in approximately 25 to 30 days. Children can enjoy their garden and add their produce to their dishes.
