March 3, 2022. South Node (Ketu) conj. Lunar Eclipse Degree
Total Lunar Eclipse (Full Moon). May 16, 2022. 4:13 GMT.
Tropical. 25° Scorpio 17’. Sidereal. 1° Scorpio 13’. viśākhā.
"Twin eclipse" to lunar eclipse of November 19, 2021.

The Lunar Eclipse (Full Moon), which appears on May 16 (GMT) is total and is called a blood moon eclipse due to the bright red color that appears as the Moon moves towards totality. It can be seen on the East Coast of the United States if the skies are clear but you can probably see it live on some of the websites I list above where you can read all about this eclipse's astronomy. Above are the degrees of the eclipse and the dates when the Nodes, which make up the eclipse, reach the eclipse degree. This eclipse is in some respects a twin eclipse to the one on November 19, 2021, since they affect the same region of the zodiac.

This eclipse season has been intense as always. Yes we do live in intense times, so be aware of secrets emerging in your own live as well as in the world between April 30 and May 16. If you look above I say that this is a twin eclipse to the one on November 19, and that is because that lunar eclipse was opposite to this one in that in November the Moon was at Tropical. 27° Taurus 14’. Sidereal. 3° Taurus 10’. mṛgaśira so that if you do have any planets, points, or angles around that degree, you have been experiencing intensity and the need to transform something since that date. As many of you know I do look at when the Nodes hit eclipse degrees and Rahu hit the degree of the November 19 eclipse on February 15, the day before Russia invaded Ukraine, and then Ketu came to the present eclipse degree on March 3, 2022 as shown above. That means that we have really been under the eclipse of November 19 all this time. Because President Biden's birthday is November 20, it is in his solar return, meaning that since he is the ruler of the United States, this country is under the influence of eclipses. This means that we are going through extremes with the economy, and now the stock market is volatile and has been going down (at least as I write this), and there is no baby formula! All of these things will get resolved but during eclipse season they come to light (as with the baby formula shortage which has been going on for a while but just came to a head now), but the good news is that once things come to light, they have to be fixed.

Since the Nodes are coming off the influence of these two lunar eclipses, some things will be resolved, but of course other things always come back. Since eclipse season on April 30 began the day after Pluto stations retrograde, and Mercury stationed retrograde on May 10 during this eclipse season, we know that things will be slow to resolve, and communication will be faulty leading to arguments and conflicts. Do NOT fall into that trap. Listen to others before you speak, and be clear. I spoke about all this in Part One of May News and Views about Mercury retrograde. Scroll down to see if you are more directly affected by this Lunar Eclipse, which is total, and is a blood red Moon, which again is intense, but is the culmination of the last six months. (If you are interested in these cycles, you can sign up for my July 12 lecture on the next six months, which will be a review of the first six months of 2022, and looking forward. If you attended the Sensitive Degrees of 2022, you will sign on for free. Otherwise scroll down to sign up.)

The Metonic Cycle of Lunations and Eclipses take place at around the same degree and date every 19 years. That means that every New and Full Moon that occur in 2022 occurred on the same degree in 2003. The Full Moon lunar eclipses this year on May 16 and November 8 occurred as eclipses on those dates in 2003 and in 1984. The New Moon solar eclipse of April 30 and October 25 occurred as a New Moon but not an eclipse in 2003. If you are old enough and can look back think about what may have happened around that time if indeed this lunar eclipse affected any planets, angles, or points in your chart. Even if they do not, they still have to be traveling through houses in your chart so think about where they are transiting.

Like retrogrades, eclipses are times to take deep breaths and look inward. The lunar eclipse on May 16 (GMT) has been a work in progress since last November. Remember that transforming and changing something in your life takes time but if you do not take the time to do that then things from outside will force the issue, and that is not what you want to happen. So think about over the last six months, since the eclipse of November 19, for things that may have clued you in to making some changes in your life, in the area of tropical and sidereal Taurus and Scorpio since that is what connects that eclipse with the one this Sunday/Monday. Meditate, be introspective, and be happy that this could be the completion of a cycle that began next fall, and you can look forward to new events and beginnings.

To repeat from the last newsletter and from many webinars where I give the message of eclipses:

Eclipse Season. April 30-May 16. Eclipses create energy, intensity, and they bring to light things that were otherwise hidden. It is important to see in which house the eclipse falls and especially if the eclipse falls on an angle, personal planet, or point in your chart then you will be directly affected by the eclipse. It will activate that point, bringing things to light that the planet or point represents, sometimes positively and sometimes negatively, and marks changes in your life of some degree, as if you have been awakened and something has been revealed. Something will be activated, confronted, and ultimately transformed for better or worse. During times of eclipses, secrets come to light and things get revealed especially during the two weeks between the eclipses. If your spouse or partner is having a secret love affair, or spending money on the side, it will come to light during eclipse season. If you make a business deal, or fall in love during eclipse season, be cautious since there are more things that will come to light as time passes. If you begin a relationship it is bound to have secrets attached to it so wait until a few weeks pass to declare your love.
Always remember that eclipses wake up secrets and ideas that may be dormant, so you may get an influx of energy, but you have to be patient, since this is the time, to rearrange and transform your ideas and other things in your life. Take this time to figure things out since eclipses bring things to the surface. And they are not always bad. They can bring you promotions, contacts, and offers and this one will take time to develop. Take deep breaths and try not to give in to your anxiety and pessimism. Let peace and optimism take over and surround yourself with everyone you love.

If you use Indian astrology. If the lunar eclipse degree at 1° Scorpio 13’ conjoins or is opposite from a planet, point or angle in your chart, this is what may be awakened, activated, and transformed. If you have any of the following planets or lagna at 0-2 degrees of Scorpio or Taurus you will be affected by this eclipse, but if you have something at 2 degrees of Scorpio and Taurus, you will have especially been affected by events that began around the November 19 eclipse. This is what these planets represent in general, but you always have to see which houses they rule to get the deeper meaning.

Sun.  power, vigor; Moon. maternal, mind; Mars. strength, courage; Mercury. speech, learning; Jupiter.  knowledge, wealth; Venus. love, happiness; Saturn. sorrow, fear; Rahu. intensity, compulsion; Ketu. extremes, spirituality; Lagna. destiny, vitality.

If you do not know which house sidereal Scorpio and Taurus occupy, look at your ascendant, or Moon, or even your Sun, and just count from there. Even though the Moon, which is what is being eclipsed, is in Scorpio on May 16, the fact that it is a full Moon means the Sun is in Taurus, and is also affected. General descriptions for bhavas (houses) are as follows:

1. appearance, destiny, temperament, personality, constitution; 2. Money, family life, food, speech, early childhood; 3. Siblings, Fine arts, courage, desires; 4. Mother, happiness, real estate, vehicles; 5. Children, romance, investments, speculation; 6. Open enemies, work, competition, obstacles, illness; 7. Marriage, partners, contracts, passion; 8. Life and death cycle, research, accidents, other's money, inheritance; 9. Father, teacher (guru), religion, higher learning, opportunity; 10. Career, status, public recognition, reputation; 11. Profits, rewards, gains from work, awards, older siblings; 12. spiritual practice, secret enemies, foreign travel, debt, confinement.

If you use tropical Western astrology. If the lunar eclipse degree at 25° Scorpio 17conjoins or is opposite from a planet, point or angle in your chart, this is what may be awakened, activated, and transformed. If you have any of the following planets or angles at 24-26 degrees of Scorpio or Taurus you will be affected by this eclipse, but if you have something at 26 degrees of Scorpio and Taurus, you will have especially been affected by events that began around the November 19 eclipse. This is what these planets represent in general, but you always have to see which houses they rule to get the deeper meaning.

Sun.  vitality, individuality, ego; Moon.  emotions, habits, conditioning; Mercury.  communication, intelligence; Venus.  love, beauty, creativity; Mars.  physical energy, aggression, courage; Jupiter.  expansion, abundance; Saturn.  limitation, disciplined, fear; Uranus.  originality, independent, rebellious; Neptune.  spiritual, immaterial, imagination; Pluto.  intensity, power; North Node. power, place where you must strive; South Node. place where it is easy, habits; Ascendant. personality, destiny; IC. home, family, mother; Descendant. partnerships, contracts; Midheaven. career, father

If you do not know which house tropical Scorpio and Taurus occupy, look at your ascendant, or Sun, and just count from there. Even though the Moon, which is what is being eclipsed, is in Scorpio on May 16, the fact that it is a full Moon means the Sun is in Taurus, and is also affected. General descriptions for houses are as follows:

1. personality, body, appearance; 2. finances, possessions, values. 3. communication, siblings, short journeys, learning; 4. family, mother, home; 5. children, recreation, entertainment; 6. health, service, pets; 7. marriage, contracts, partnership; 8. business transactions, sexuality, life and death matters; 9. higher education, travel abroad, publishing, law; 10. profession, status, father; 11. gains, friendships, hopes, dreams; 12. compassion, spirituality, limitations, solitude
