Etiquette Class

Children age 8 and up will learn the following in a fun and interactive way: Setting a table from start to finish, table manners and etiquette, American style of dining, continental style of dining, proper introductions, posture, the napkin, please and thank you's, dining conversation, proper way to utilize utensils, passing the food and complimenting the chef. All students receive an Etiquette "Set Right" Placemat and Brunch. Fee: $60 per student.

Location: Burntwood Tavern - 8188 Brecksville Rd. 

Time: 11am-1:00 (12:30-1:00 brunch to practice what was learned)

Family Archery


In this 6-hour/ 3-week course, everyone ages 8 and up will learn to shoot the Genesis compound-type bow correctly, with accuracy improving each week. This builds a solid foundation for advancement in any form of archery. Safety is emphasized continuously. The first class will feature classroom time as well as 1 hour of shooting and is MANDATORY. This class teaches safety essentials, range protocols, equipment handling, shooting techniques, and more, supported by photos and diagrams presented in ways that both youngsters and adults will understand. The next two weekly shooting classes are held in the Auxiliary Gym archery range. All registrants must sign up with at least one adult family member.

Youth Golf Lessons


Youth Golf Lessons for kids ages 7-16 will be held at the Broadview Heights Indoor Golf Simulator. No rainouts, great learning environment! Participants will receive instruction on the basics of the golf swing, and the rules and etiquette of the game. Children should bring a water bottle and clubs if they have them. We have clubs available for those that don't have a set. Each participant will also receive a gift certificate for 4 free hours on the golf simulator included in the lesson price. Sessions run once per week for five weeks. Class maximum 6.

Youth Tennis Lessons



All classes will be held on the tennis courts at “The Fields” sports complex in Broadview Heights. Participation is open to students at all levels of experience. Register at www.bhrec.org/register

This is a special event for the whole family in conjunction with the Broadview Heights Home Days. Race begins and ends at the Broadview Heights Community and Recreation Center: 9543 Broadview Road, Broadview Heights, OH 44147. Refreshments of fruit and water will be available at the finish line. Every participant will get a beverage ticket (water, soft drink or adult beverage) with race admission. First 200 registered runners/walkers get a race day t shirt.

Medal Categories: Top 3 people in each age group. Top overall female and male.


5K Run or 1 Mile Walk: $25 on or before July 6th or $30 on race day. 


Family Rate: $23/person


(Must be three or more people living at the same address)

Batting Cage Rental


We have a brand new batting cage installed in the Auxiliary Gym. It's 12' high x 14' wide x 70' long. An L screen is provided so that hitters can be pitched balls.


Cost per Hour: Member $50, Resident $60, Non-Resident $70

We Are Hiring!!


Resident Service Attendant (RSA): Looking for someone that can work weekends (Saturday 12pm-8pm and Sunday 12pm-6pm) to assist in registering patrons for memberships, scanning people in, monitoring fitness and enforcing the rules of the recreation center.  


Summer Recreation & Service Department workers: We are looking for people ages 17 years and older to assist the Service Department in landscaping, grounds keeping and related duties for City projects and Parks maintenance. Duties include general labor, cleaning, cutting grass, sweeping, raking, shoveling, planting flowers, spreading mulch, grooming baseball fields, and related tasks. Pay generally starts between $12- $15 per hour for 20+ hours per week. We have a variety of hours to accommodate your availability!

Group Exercise Classes in Broadview Heights!


We offer classes in packs of 5 classes or 3 month unlimited. Passes for members start at $35 for 5 pack, and $120, resident and non resident passes are offered at a higher rate. To purchase your pass, please head over to www.bhrec.org/register and log in. As always, you may reserve your spot online or just drop in. If you have a pass you can head straight to your class to sign in. Anyone purchasing a single class Drop In must stop at the desk to pay and then can take your receipt to the instructor.

SilverSneakers / Renew Active Classes

 

Did you know that you don’t have to be a member of SilverSneakers or Renew Active to take a class? A group exercise pass is required to take these classes without a SilverSneakers or Renew Active membership.

 

We offer SilverSneakers classes 5 days per week. Classes include Classic (beginner introductory class), Cardio Circuit (Intermediate Cardio), Yoga, EnerChi, BOOM Move and SilverSneakers Splash. All SilverSneakers classes are listed in green on our printable Group Exercise schedule and are offered at no additional cost to Silver Sneakers and Renew Active members. The 2022 Tee Ball for 3 & 4 year olds


The Broadview Heights Parks and Recreation department offers summer youth baseball, softball and tee ball leagues for players 3 years old to 18 (graduating high school seniors). Each summer over 1500 players participate in our leagues from May to the end of July.


Early Start 3 & 4 year old Tee Ball registration runs through May 15th. All other leagues have completed their registration in March.

Have a Birthday Party in Broadview Heights!


Looking for a fun place to host your birthday party? Rent a room or host a swim party at the Broadview Heights Community and Recreation Center.


We offer pool party packages for groups up to 50 people. Party packages include use of a room with a refrigerator, microwave and sink, and pool use when available. Party packages are booked in two hour blocks and start at $110 for a small group of up to 25 people or start at $220 for a medium group of up to 50 people.


In addition to our party packages we also offer facility rentals for parties, family gatherings, business meetings, showers and more. Small rooms seat up to 25 people and start at $25 per hour, medium rooms seat up to 50 and start at $40 per hour. Minimum of 2 hours per rental.
