Today is the day! The 2022 Annual Town Meeting has been scheduled for 5 PM at the Nantucket High School Mary P. Walker Auditorium.

Upon entry, you will be muted, but can communicate through the chatbox or the Q&A. The last 15 minutes or so will be saved for a Q&A portion.
An Interactive Virtual Workshop: Solutions for Stress Management

June 14th, 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
  • The common causes and signs of stress
  • Stress management tips and techniques to responding to stress
  • Strategies when it comes to food & mood, time management, and prioritizing


During the webinar, participants will be muted for the duration of the program with two options for communication:

  • There is a chatbox where you can write to “Hosts and Panelists” or to “Everyone”

  • There is a Q&A where you can ask questions that will be saved for the end of the presentation. (There is also a check box to ask anonymously)

Memorial Day

Town offices will be closed on Monday, May 30, 2022,
in observance of Memorial Day.
Do you know a high schooler who is interested in employment with the Town?

Tell them to see us at the Nantucket High School Job Fair on May 12th, 1:30 - 3:30 pm to learn more about the current opportunities and the culture and functions of each Town department.

Department of Public Works
Cesar Gianella
TaKyra Netter
DPW has two new hires. Cesar Gianelle and TaKyra Netter started working for the Town on April 4th. Cesar as a Part-Time TIOLI Attendant and TaKyra as an Office Administrator. Welcome to the team, Cesar and TaKyra!
Richard Moore

Richard has been with the Town since 2009. He was recently promoted from Operations Manager to Deputy DPW Director. Congratulation, Richard!
Peter McColl

Peter was transferred from Sewer Department to DPW on April 25th. His new position is Maintenance Technician. Good luck in your new role, Peter!
Police Department
David Tearse worked as a Lifeguard Supervisor during the 2021 season and has recently accepted a full-time position as the Assistant Harbormaster.

Alice Kellogg was recently promoted to Assistant Procurement Officer within the Finance Department. Congratulation, Alice!

OIH has two new hires.
Collin Samuels and Rosalee Gordon started working for the Town on April 19th. Collin as a Per Diem RN and Rosalee as a Housekeeper.

April Trivia! DPW staff removes consolidated, bagged ROADSIDE litter on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays! Please call DPW at 508-228-7244 for the special pickup of large items found.

Bike path drop-off locations (look for the signs) are:

  • Milestone Bike Path near Polpis Road
  • Milestone Bike Path at Tom Nevers Road
  • Polpis Bike Path at Don Allen Ford Crosswalk
  • Madaket Bike Path at Eel Point Crosswalk
