A SQUIRREL FROM MEMORY by artist Douglas Degquirrekges comprises of two divergent image-making processes. The project explores familial relationships, distance from home, and the pressure to possess a singular voice or vision within a creative practice.
The project was born out of the artist’s decision to work with increasingly personal and localized imagery while tending to creative practice as a collaborative activity.

ABSTRACT ORBIT is a collection of contemporary art is curated by Jeanne Ciravolo, from six
emerging and mid-career artists. Sculpture, print, works on paper, and painting by Fritz Horstman , and mid-career artiists Noe Jimenez, John Richardson, Ruth Sack, Laurie Sloan, and Sarah Stewart.

HOPE AND HEALING THROUGH POWER OF ART
The ground floor gallery honors Women's month by featuring fourteen women artists from the Read's ArtSpace community curated by JodiAnn Strminska.
The exhibit celebrates the power of art to generate hope and healing during times of crisis and uncertainty. Gallery hours Saturdays noon - 5PM or by appointment. Runs through May 19th.

Three of the six award recipients of the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County's Sixth Annual Daniel E. Offutt III Arts & Culture Empowerment (ACE) Awards are based in Bridgeport.
The purpose of the ACE awards is to celebrate the passion for, and impact of, arts and culture across coastal Fairfield County, and to raise awareness of the quality and diversity of our region's arts and cultural offerings. Storytelling Exchange

Meets the 1st Thurs of the month
To recognize the art of storytelling, City Lights Gallery sponsors a monthly story gathering for adults on Zoom.
The emphasis is personal stories to share the human experience. Participants with fictional or historical stories are welcome too! We encourage professional tellers, amateurs, and listeners to join us. During the exchange, participants share a story, a part of a story, a story idea, or attend just to listen.
Test out a piece, receive help developing it if you wish, and listen to the stories of others. Discover what makes a story compelling.

The Giant anteater is an iconic South American mammal listed as vulnerable to extinction. Dr. Arnaud Desbiez has launched Anteaters & Highways, a four-year effort to collect anteater road interaction data and help protect the species in the wild. Research findings will be used to develop landscape and road management guidelines and mitigate the impact of road mortality on anteater populations in the Cerrado.
