Estuaries are home to some of the most rare and endangered species in the world. We have just one month left to protect 320 acres of the Shoal Creek estuary in the Great Bear Rainforest. This property, near Port Neville on the mid-coast of the province contains habitat for three species of Pacific Salmon, Grizzly Bears and at least nine bird species listed under the federal Species At Risk Act.
We have just one month left to raise the last $200,000 needed to purchase and protect one of the last remaining parcels of private land in the White Lake Basin. This parcel is surrounded by The Nature Trust’s White Lake Basin Biodiversity Ranch conservation area and has been a priority potential acquisition for many years. Over 95% of the property contains sensitive ecosystems, including habitat for at least two Red-Listed plants, and more than ten at-risk animal species.
The Nature Trust has conserved over 500 properties since 1971. These properties are home to some of the most rare and fragile ecosystems in the province. We have conserved these areas to protect endangered and at-risk species for generations to come. Some of these special places are right in your back yard, and if you are committed to leaving a light footprint, you can visit and explore some of our properties for yourself, and learn about the wildlife that calls them home.
This Earth Day, we partnered with YouTube to explore this beautiful planet that we call home. Experience its hidden treasures with a host of different personalities, and learn about its magical systems with help from a variety of sustainability-focused organizations.
The Nature Trust is proud to be a partner in Will Power, a national program to bring awareness to the benefits of legacy giving.
There are many reasons to leave a gift to charity in a will. Giving to a charity benefits society but it can also reduce taxes, ultimately leaving more for your beneficiaries. The most well-known advantage of giving to charities is the charitable tax donation credit that can applied directly against the income taxes of the estate. But there are other methods of legacy giving as well. Learn more about legacy giving on Willpower.caor on our website.
