As we move into May, we recognize and celebrate National Small Business Week, which starts on April 30^th and runs through May 6^th.

For over 50 years, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has celebrated National Small Business Week, which recognizes the critical contribution of America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners. NSBW is co-hosted by SCORE, mentors American’s small businesses, and is a resource partner not only of SBA but the Sebastian River Area Chamber of Commerce business partners as well. They offer free mentorship, webinars, business counseling, and training for our business community.

In addition to SBA and SCORE, our area also enjoys weVENTURE Women’s Business Center at Florida Tech, in Melbourne. They are dedicated to igniting the economic power of women entrepreneurs and partnering with clients to create sustainable business growth that strengthens “Main Street USA”. They offer support, programming, free business-driven webinars, education, and in-person and virtual consultations.

Our Small Businesses are the cornerstone of our community, and it is an honor and a privilege to service, support, promote, advertise, and market all our business members. Shop local!

 Heather was born in Illinois and moved to Southwest Florida with her family when she was only six years old. She knew since 5th grade that she wanted to become a funeral director. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Mortuary Science and Funeral Directing in May of 2016. In September of 2016, she moved to central Florida and her career as a funeral director began.

Heather says the best part of her job is making the worst day of someone’s life a little bit more bearable and making a difference in their life. Her typical work day consists of reaching out to families whose loved one recently passed in order to help the families make arrangements that will fulfill their loved one’s wishes. Heather helps the families schedule funeral services or celebration of life and guides her families in making knowledgeable decisions when it comes to funeral merchandise. At the end of the day, it is Heather’s goal to make sure the family knows they will be taken care of with kindness and an open heart.

When Heather is not at work she enjoys reading books, swimming, clothes shopping, and spending time with her family especially her identical mirror-image twin sister. Her pride and joy are her fur children which are two dogs, Oliver and Nova and three cats, Buddy, Izzy, and Clyde

The Sebastian River Area Chamber Of Commerce is helping these amazing young ladies fundraise for a national competition. They will be competing in Atlanta, Georgia at the National Future Business Leaders of America Competition. They will be sharing information about this event at our May Speaker Series Networking Lunch and have an informational table at our final two Concerts in the Park.
