Thank You and Good Luck Maggie!
Maggie Yug, with her parents Chrissy and Darin Yug, at the 2023 Charity Ball.
CRS was very fortunate to have Avon High School student, Maggie Yug, serve as a student representative to our Board of Directors for the past 3 years! She was hard-working and dedicated, volunteering many hours of her time to CRS. Maggie was especially good at recruiting other students to join her in volunteering at events like the SOUPer Bowl Food Drive, Homeruns for Hunger and the Annual Charity Ball as well as collecting items for our food pantry.

We wish Maggie the best of luck as she heads off to Boston College in the fall where she plans to major in Management and Leadership and minor in Applied Psychology.
34th Annual Charity Ball
April 22, 2023

On behalf of the families we serve, we would like to give heartfelt thanks to all the people that made this years Caring Hearts Charity Ball a huge success! The generosity of our sponsors, donors, volunteers and 325 guests allowed us to raise over $101,000. It is because of this generosity that CRS is able to continue our mission of diminishing the effects of poverty in Avon and Avon Lake!

John T. Shook Award

Congratulations to Rich and Candy General, recipients of the 2023 John T. Shook Award which was presented at the Annual Charity Ball on April 22, 2023. Over many years, Rich and Candy have together and individually volunteered hundreds of hours of their time and talents to bettering the community through their involvement in many local organizations. Many of CRS’s seasonal programs have benefitted from their support such as Santa’s Workshop, Summer Snack Bags, Easter and the CRS food pantry. Rich and Candy also volunteer for the Avon Lake United Church of Christ, Lorain County Habitat for Humanity, Second Harvest, Love Inc., the Haven Center – Neighborhood Alliance, and Empty Bowls by the Lake.
