Fitness for the Summer
New sessions of in person and online Fitness classes begin next month. Newcomers are always welcome. Courses provide a supportive, collegial environment to get in shape and stay in shape at any age.
Jeannine Palermo has just added new sections of online Total Body Workout with Bands (Course 11942) starting Friday, June 16, 2023, as well as two more sections of Sit and Be Fit: Chair-Based Body Sculpting (Tuesday afternoons starting June 13, 2023: Course 11939; Thursday mornings starting June 15, 2023: Course 11940). Her summer in-person Body Sculpting (Course 11941) will continue to meet on Thursday mornings starting June 15, 2023.

Heather Buyers will offer a summer session of her popular indoor low impact aerobic style group exercise with easy-to-follow routines set to music. In-person Walk 15® (Course 11923) meets Tuesday mornings, starting June 13, 2023. Online Walk 15® (Course 11922) meets Monday mornings, starting June 19, 2023.

Penny Bowman and Judy Schwartzman will lead more Movement to Music classes, complete with live piano accompaniment. Tuesday morning sessions meet in-person (Course 11728) or online (Course 11732) beginning June 6, 2023. Thursday morning sessions meet online only (Course 11734) beginning June 8, 2023. Friday morning sessions meet in-person (Course 11730) or online (Course 11736) beginning June 9, 2023.

Joey Zimet returns for another session of Postural Therapy Movement (Course 11958) with a newly added section starting Wednesday, June 7, 2023. Learn realignment techniques to stand or sit up straight, walk with efficiency and balance, and breathe more naturally.
Louise Fecher's classes also have upcoming summer dates. In-person Essential Yoga (Course 11780) meets Tuesday mornings starting June 13, 2023. In-person Gentle Yoga (Course 11782), with no floor work and pose modifications as needed, meets Tuesday mornings starting June 13, 2023. Online Gentle Yoga (Course 11784) meets Friday mornings starting June 9, 2023.

Fecher has also just added a new summer section of MELT Method® for Enhanced Stability and Mobility (Course 11961), meeting Thursday mornings starting June 15, 2023. Learn to use specialized soft rollers and MELT Method® hand and foot treatment balls to simulate manual therapy.
Course Additions and Changes
Recently added to the catalog, the following brand new courses are open for registration and begin within the next few weeks:
Students in World of Wine Master Class (Thursday evening on June 8, 2023: Course 11952); Tuesday afternoon on June 13, 2023: Course 11953) will learn wine basics as well as some industry secrets from new instructor, Adriana Krstic, a Court of Masters certified Sommelier. Discuss food and wine pairing principals, sparkling and still wine, perfect serving temperatures, and confusing wine labels. Wine tasting and cheese are included.

Another new instructor, Reyna Marder Gentin, will introduce Moments in Time Writing Workshop (Course 11955) on Thursday, June 1, 2023, for aspiring authors seeking to write stories about the important moments in life, big and small, the lighter ones and the more difficult experiences.

Those planning European trips this summer may brush up their language skills and get insider suggestions for places to visit with French for Travelers (Course 11951) with Sylvie Corten, starting Wednesday, June 14, and Off the Beaten Path in Italy, a Travel Guide for Tourists (Course 11957) with Andrea Grover, starting Wednesday, June 7, 2023.

Please also note that in lieu of the movies originally listed in Marilyn DeRight's upcoming Film Discussion: Three Movie Masterpieces (Course 11898), scheduled to begin this Thursday, class will instead discuss the following twenty-first century prize-winners: Parasite (2019), The Quiet Girl (2022), and Passing (2021).
