Developing Affordable Homes & Helping Communities Thrive Since 1975
AHC Cuts the Ribbon on New Arlington Community
We're excited to officially add 77 beautiful homes to the community at The Terraces at Arlington View. This new building more than doubles the number of affordable homes available at the previous building. Local community members, government officials, and residents th to move into their new homes joined the festivities.

The Terraces offers 15 hard-to-find three-bedroom apartments and eight fully ADA-accessible units. And the whole building meets Universal Design standards. This sustainable building also has 190 solar panels on the roof, an extensive green roof to support stormwater management, EV charging station in the garage, and more. And The Terraces is AHC's First Energy Star Certified building in Virginia!
Students Announce Plans During CCR's Annual College Signing Day
AHC Inc.'s College and Career Readiness (CCR) program hosted its college signing day on May 5. Students proudly announced their college plans and showcased new T-shirts for their chosen colleges.

This year, the CCR program included 37 high school seniors and 32 juniors from lower-income homes. The students received acceptance from 156 out of the 257 schools they applied to and $13.3 million in gift aid and scholarships from those schools. Many students are the first generation in their families to reach this educational milestone.

“This kind of success is only possible when the entire community comes together to work for something they all believe in – providing access to resources for our students to achieve their dreams,” said CCR Manager, Gabriela Segovia.
AHC and Arlington County Police Connect on Multi-Tiered Tutoring Program to Support Youth
AHC Inc., the Arlington County Police Department (ACPD), and the Life Enrichment Center have partnered to provide literacy tutoring to elementary-aged students at AHC's Gates of Ballston after-school program. The tutoring program is part of a three-tiered approach between AHC and ACPD's Community Engagement Division to support positive youth development through education and relationship building and enhances the longstanding collaboration between AHC and ACPD.

"Our partnership with ACPD proactively works towards AHC's mission of using education and social services to help residents build more stable and successful lives," says Paul Bernard, President & CEO of AHC Inc. "We are grateful for the partnership with ACPD and the Life Enrichment Center to bring impactful educational programming to the youth at our AHC communities."
