ISKCON of Arizona Newsletter

Our koi pond makes a nice backdrop for photos, as these dancers from our recent Rama Fest discovered. Smile!

Greetings & Namaste,

Spring's warmer temps are bringing more folks out to our patio to dine. A good day to treat your friends and family will be Sunday, May 14th, Mother's Day. To see the day's vegan menu, please scroll down.

Last month Govinda's acquired a new reverse-osmosis (RO) water-filtration system, providing a lot more high-quality drinking and cooking water for the restaurant and temple ashram.

Compared with the previous system, our new equipment supplies water that is doubly pure, five times less wasteful and six times cheaper, all at fifteen times the speed and volume. For more information about this great upgrade, please scroll down.

Yours in service,

Sandamini Devi

Pima College Engineering Students Design Green Space for New Temple

Students from the Landscape Engineering Department at Pima College are competing to design the front area of the upcoming temple compound.

We have reserved 650 sq. ft for a green with benches, trees, plants, and a fountain for patio dining. This is the students' end-of-year project, so we can't wait to see whose design places first!

Krishna's Home Care Tucson Launches

On Friday evening, April 21st, Krishna's Home Care Tucson held a pre-opening event at its newly built facility only a block from our temple.

About fifty devotees and guests celebrated with music, dance, storytelling, video appreciations, and prasadam snacks.

Though the project has been years in the making, to see it finally manifest made the occasion historic: the first licensed devotee care facility has arrived!

By the end of the evening, those attending had pledged thousands of dollars to give Krishna's Home its finishing touches.

"Mantra Oasis" Outreach Center Opens on Tucson's East Side

Atula Govinda Prabhu had been keeping his realtor's eye peeled for a suitable house to expand Krishna's reach to Tucson's East Side. When one came available over the winter, he seized the opportunity.

On March 18th temple and congregational devotees celebrated the launch of "Mantra Oasis," another island of Krishna consciousness amid Arizona's desert of material life.

As our ISKCON temple hold its weekly Sunday evening festival, so the Oasis is holding a weekly program on Saturday evening, especially focusing on students and seekers. A promising spiritual one-two, indeed!

"My dear friends, just see how Sri Krsna is enjoying the season of spring! With the gopis embracing each of His limbs, He is like amorous love personified. With His transcendental pastimes He enlivens all the gopis and the entire creation. With His soft, bluish-black arms and legs, which resemble blue lotus flowers, He has created a festival for Cupid!"
