A stroke happens when the arteries of the brain are affected by a clot or a rupture, preventing areas of the brain to not get the nutrients or oxygen it needs to survive. This will lead to brain death in the affected region, and this brain disease is the number 5 cause of death and leader in cause of disabilities in Americans. Each stroke is different, and everyone's road to recovery is unique.
