Thousands of athletes, coaches, families, and friends representing all corners of Pennsylvania will participate in this year’s Summer Games held at Penn State University June 6-8. Competition in athletics, basketball, equestrian, golf, gymnastics, softball, swimming, and tennis highlight the three-day event. This wouldn’t be possible without the support of volunteers! Volunteers are needed to support competition, awards, scorekeeping, food and more! Most volunteer shifts are 3-4 hours long, and you can choose to volunteer for one or multiple days!

MOVIES UNDER THE STARS

Free movies are shown monthly during the summer months at Sidney Friedman Park in downtown State College beginning at dusk. Bring your chairs and a drink; free popcorn is provided! If you'd like to be a "contact person" for other CRDSS members to look for, let Anne Marie know and she'll share that. The next movie, Soul, will be shown on Saturday, June 22.

WELCOME, NEW MEMBERS!

Join us at Meyer Dairy on Sunday, 6/30 at 2pm for an informal gathering to say hello to our new members and chat with old friends. Ice cream is inexpensive; the chance to socialize with others in our community is priceless!

No need to let us know; just bring your family and show up.

Centre Gives Wrap-up

Thank you to the 85 donors (14 member families among them) who helped us raise $4,633. We also won one $500 Power Hour prize - THANKS if you donated then! We also won 2 additional $100 prizes at Centre Gives Fest.

Special thanks to the six people who volunteered to staff our balloon pop game and table for the Fest event. The balloon pop game was a big hit (get it? lol).

Former Director Lauren Smith has volunteered to chair our Tussey Mountainback effort. Here she displays our CRDSS logo for runners approaching the finish line near Whipple Dam Lake.

Tussey Mountainback 50 Mile Relay and Ultramarathon logo

We showed off our CRDSS spirit at water stops and the finish line of the May Tussey Tease. We need you to come cheer for runners and hand out water at the upcoming Tussey Teaser races on June 2 and June 23.

Sign up for a Tussey Teaser and/or the Mountainback here!

All proceeds from these races and the big Tussey Mountainback event in October go directly to support CRDSS programs for our members.

Visit our website calendar for detailed information about our events.

If you are planning an event or activity, even something informal, to which members are invited, contact Anne Marie and she'll get it on the calendar!

Follow us on Facebook so you see all the cool stuff that goes on in our community! We urge you to follow us and “like,” “comment,” and “share” our public page posts to help raise awareness for CRDSS in our local communities. Invite you our friends and families as well.

Our private group for Caregivers & Advocates is a great resource for all the questions you want to ask of others who may have lived your experience.

Would your family member with Down syndrome enjoy receiving a birthday card from us?

We'd like to start a birthday card program to send each member with Down syndrome a card on his/her birthday. If we don't have a birthdate recorded for your family member, we'll be reaching out soon to get it confirmed!

We'd like to extend a heartfelt
