National Day of Prayer

Since 1952, all US presidents have proclaimed the first Thursday of May to be a National Day of Prayer. All are invited to the 73rd celebration of the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 6:00pm next to the War Memorials at the Salisbury Town Hall. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held across the street in the Congregational Church. Members of the town will offer prayers for government, schools, businesses, arts/media, churches, families, military/veterans, as well as fire, police, and emergency responders. Come join your fellow townspeople at this community event.

Salisbury Family Services Sends Children to Camp


Salisbury Family Services, a local non-profit organization, serving residents of the Town of Salisbury, will provide scholarships to summer camp for the children of qualifying families. Assistance is given for resident and day camps, special needs, arts and sports camps.

Town Grove Summer 2024 Rules, Regulations & Rates

SENIOR SERVICES

Senior Nutrition Program at the Senior Center


Lunches will be served at the Senior Center on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 12:00pm starting Oct. 4. The suggested donation is $5.00 those 65 & up, $6.50 for those under 65.


Reservations are required at least 24-hours in advance.  

To make a reservation call 860-435-5197 or sign up in person at the Senior Center.

Salisbury Senior Center Knitting & Crochet Club


WHERE: The Salisbury Senior Center at the Town Grove, 42 Ethan Allen St., Lakeville


WHEN: Mondays From 1:00-3:00pm – Starting October 16th, 2023


WHO: Knitters And Crocheters Of All Levels Welcome. Beginners

Should Bring Size 8 Knitting Needles And Worsted Weight Yarn.


WHAT: Bring Project You Are Working On Or Start A New One. Coffee and Tea will be provided. Meet other seniors from the area.

Cost: This is a FREE program.

Ping Pong at the

Senior Center


Adult ping pong will meet at the Senior Center will meet on Wednesdays from 1:30-3:30pm. It is recommended that all participants are fully vaccinated.  


Anyone not vaccinated can participate but must wear a mask.

Join the Hewat Community Garden at Salisbury Family Services!


The Hewat Community Garden, located at 30 Salmon Kill Road in Salisbury, has plots available for interested gardeners.  

Cost: Single plot, $30 double plot, $50. If cost is a concern plots will be made available at no charge.

Garden provides: Tools, carts, hoses, water access, and a shaded gazebo.

Common areas include shared herb gardens and a pollinator garden.

If you would like to grow your own vegetables and flowers in a lovely community garden space, please contact Patrice McGrath at 860-435-5187 prior to June 1, 2024. All are welcome!

Town of Salisbury Summer Youth Job Program


APPLICATIONS FOR THE SUMMER JOB PROGRAM ARE NOW AVAILABLE - Click HERE to Download Application

 

The summer job program is a service provided by the Town of Salisbury for its youth, funded on donations. This generally is the young person’s first formal job experience. Applicants must be 14, 15 and 16 years of age; Sixteen year olds must have worked for the program last year and were in good standing. All applicants must be a resident of Salisbury/Lakeville. Applications will be located at the Town Hall, Salisbury Central School Offices, and H.V.R.H.S. Office. Final deadline for applications will be Friday, May 31, 2024.
