Transfer of Embryos
All Embryos calves must be DNA’ed and have Parent Verified results on file prior to registering your embryo calf. If you are not the owner of the Donor Dam at time of Flush you must get the owner of Donor Dam at time of Flush to sign a Transfer of Embryo Ownership form. Option # 1 – If the owner of the Donor Dam is an online member, you can grant permission to Members by providing the Embryo Transfer info with your online access. Option # 2 - The CSA office can now email you a Transfer of Embryo Ownership PDF which you may sign electronically and once you have electronically signed it will email back to the office. Option # 3 - Click here for the online form.
Online – Parentage Test Requests
When ordering parentage verification tests using your Online system, please be sure that both parents
have had a SNP profile completed. The reason being one parent may be a mature animal that only has a
microsatellite test result on file.
When this is the case, the CSA staff should be ordering the test on your behalf so that special
instructions can be included on the bottom of the application form. The lab staff that receives your
form and sample will then know that they are to send a portion of the sample to Quantum Genserve in
Saskatoon, SK.
The end result - your parentage results are not delayed as one parent must qualified using
SNP testing: and the other parent must be qualified using Microsatellite testing.
