Wheeler's Values In Action | | Breaking the Ice on Mental Health | |
In honor of May is Mental Health Month, seven senior leaders at Wheeler Health took a bucket of chilly ice water over their heads to help raise awareness of mental health, the need for services, and support the organization. To date, dozens of people have given to support the challenge and we have raised over $3,000! We'll still take donations if you're interested in supporting us!

Empowering Our Communities:
Mott Corporation and Wheeler Health
| |
Since 2016, Wheeler Health and Mott Corporation have enjoyed a meaningful and impactful partnership dedicated to improving health and wellness in the communities of Bristol, Hartford, New Britain, Plainville, and Waterbury. This collaboration has led to significant community engagement and support for a variety of initiatives that benefit patients, particularly those facing mental health and social service challenges.
Pictured above are 14 volunteer Mott Health Ambassadors who joined our Day of Caring to help beautify the grounds of 91 Northwest Drive by mulching, planting, and staining.
Also in May, Mott joined us at the 2025 NAMIWalks event in New Britain, promoting mental health awareness and reducing stigma, and helped feed more than 130 people in New Britain at our bi-weekly mobile pantry event in partnership with Connecticut Foodshare.

Supported through Mott’s philanthropic giving, Wheeler’s community health
worker, LaToya Bond, in Bristol engages families through local outreach and health education. The role connects our patients to community resources they may be unaware of, but which can improve their health and wellness.
Part of the integrated health care team, this position harnesses local expertise, relationships, and trust to improve engagement in routine health care services and patient education and advocacy. Latoya also represents Wheeler at community events and outreach opportunities.
| | 2025 Annual Day of Caring | | We celebrated United Way of West Central Connecticut's Day of Caring last week with our amazing volunteers from M&T Bank. As a wonderful bonus, our volunteer Mott Health Ambassadors joined in to help Wheeler. Nearly 30 people participated, planting, mulching, and painting—all efforts to beautify the grounds of our 91 Northwest Drive location. We’re so grateful for their work! | | Supporting Parents in Their Recovery Journey | |
