Chamber Connection Newsletter May 2025 | | A Message from our President/CEO | |
|
Dear Members & Partners,
As we move into May, we recognize and celebrate National Small Business Week, which starts on May 4th and runs through May 10th.
For more than 60 years, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has celebrated National Small Business Week (NSBW), which acknowledges the critical contributions of America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners. National Small Business Week 2025 will take place May 4-10, and SBA will officially recognize their hard work, ingenuity, and dedication, including their contributions to the economy.
In addition to SBA and SCORE, our area also enjoys weVENTURE Women’s Business Center at Florida Tech, in Melbourne. They are dedicated to igniting the economic power of women entrepreneurs and partnering with clients to create sustainable business growth that strengthens “Main Street USA”. They offer support, programming, free business-driven webinars, education, and in-person and virtual consultations.
Our Small Businesses are the cornerstone of our community, and it is an honor and a privilege to serve, support, promote, advertise, and market all our business members. Shop local!
Also, we are looking for volunteers to join our Media Auction Committee. Please email me or call me directly if interested. cthibault@sebastianchamber.com or 772-589-5969.
Best Regards,
Cheryl Thibault
President/CEO

Hi, I am Theresa Tolle and my husband, Joe, and I own Bay Street Pharmacy in Roseland. Founded in 1984 by my father-in-law, Joe Tolle, and his partner Frank Sherako, we purchased the pharmacy when Frank retired in 2005 and celebrated the 40th anniversary of the pharmacy in November.
I am a Florida native who grew up in a small town in the Florida panhandle. I moved to Brevard County after graduating from the University of Florida pharmacy school and came to Bay Street Pharmacy in 1997. The greater Sebastian area has such a small-town feeling, much like where I was raised, and we love taking care of our community and living out our tagline, “where caring people care for you”.
We are proud of our involvement in the community, including my service to the Sebastian Chamber of Commerce for 14 years from 2009 to 2023. Additionally, we support many local community organizations, and I have served on the board for both SAFIR (now Thrive) and the Orlando Health Sebastian.
Most people don’t realize that local community pharmacies are often very competitive with pricing and provide services that other, larger pharmacies don’t provide such as same day delivery, compounding for people and pets, compliance packaging and medication synchronization services. Additionally, another reason to use a local pharmacy is relationships. Our team at Bay Street Pharmacy has been in place for many years and we get to know you and your family by name. Also, when you support us, we, in turn, support our community providing sponsorships to local organizations, sports teams, schools and more. We take most insurances, and, in addition to what I mentioned above we also provide Test & Treat services for COVID, flu, and strep with short wait times and all types of immunizations as walk ins. And, we have ongoing diabetes education classes that are covered by Medicare. Finally, we provide medical equipment in addition to prescription services, so that makes us a one stop shop.
We often hear that our pharmacy has an “old time feel”. We take that as a compliment because we want to be different and provide exceptional customer service like the old days. We hope that you will give us a try! Come see us at 7746 Bay Street on US 1 across from Fresenius Dialysis or visit our website, www.baystreetpharmacy.com.

I am proud to introduce myself, as an Underwriting Account Executive at IRSC Public Media. My name is Danielle Nevarez, and as part of IRSC Public Media, I have the unique opportunity to help local businesses and nonprofits connect with an engaged, affluent audience that actively supports meaningful community initiatives. Underwriting with us, not only enhances your brand’s credibility but also aligns it with excellence in programming—setting you apart from commercial advertising. Additionally, your brand will be in great company, alongside respected local arts organizations, nonprofits, medical professionals, and financial service providers.
Growing up in a military household, I spent my early years moving through the East Coast to the Midwest, experiencing life in various communities and learning to form deep connections quickly. This ever-changing environment exposed me to a wide range of perspectives, shaping my deep appreciation for fostering relationships and strengthening local ties. I enjoyed going to high school in the Treasure Coast and coming back to this area has given me a deeper appreciation of the community’s loyalty and love for local establishments.
At IRSC Public Media, we offer a mix of news, cultural programming, and classical music as well as serve as the emergency broadcasting station throughout the Treasure Coast. Our stations are WQCS 88.9 FM, local news & talk, WQCP 91.1 FM Treasure Coast’s R&B Station. With the exciting new digital expansion of our classical station 88.9 HD2. And lastly our newest, serving Okeechobee WQCO 90.5 & 88.5 FM Lake O’s Rock Variety. We proudly serve Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee, Saint Lucie, and Palm Beach counties, offering thoughtful, high-quality programming that speaks to the interests and needs of our region. Public radio sponsorship enhances brand credibility and places businesses alongside esteemed local arts organizations, nonprofits, medical professionals, and financial service providers. More than just advertising, it’s an opportunity to stand out and make a meaningful impact in the community.
If your business or organization is interested in reaching this highly desirable audience, please contact Danielle Nevarez in the underwriting sales department at dnevarez@irsc.edu or call (772) 475-6916
