We at The Bridge continue to witness God's provision through your generosity. In the past few weeks, we have had several situations that clearly showed that we serve a God of abundance.

We received 17 turkeys ranging from 35-42 lbs.

Yes! You read that correctly!

We didn’t only get what we needed, we got more than we could ask or imagine. Our kitchen coordinator said, “I have never seen a bird that big”!

In our Free Store ministry, our visitors are provided with the opportunity to share in God’s abundance. Our Free Store staff have said many times this month, “We have what we need”, "We seem to have more than we thought”.

For Mother’s Day, we gave the ladies in our community gift bags with cosmetics from items donated to the store. Some would not have received anything. The delight in these women’s eyes as they received their gift was so special. With this gift, we got to share with these women how much God cares about them.

Thank you for blessing us to be a blessing to our community!

Romans 2:4 became real to one of our visitors (...God’s kindness leads us to repentance). They were scheduled in court to face charges because of a crime committed, but they came to ask for prayer. Although they recognized that there would be consequences, they were scared to go to jail. So, they asked for prayer for mercy.

They returned a few days later to tell the staff that the judge dismissed all the charges. We are in awe of the mercy of God shown through the judge. They then asked the staff about going to a Teen Challenge program. This testimony of God’s mercy paved the way for our staff member to speak truth to this visitor.

All my life, I have never prayed for a cat, but this person asked me to pray and I did”, a staff member shared. A visitor’s cat was sick and they had taken it to the vet and found it would cost $3000 to get treated. They were worried about the cat and the cost, so the staff prayed. They came back to say that they did not take the cat to the vet because the cat had healed!

These stories are unique and demonstrate that God does not only care about us, but He cares about the things that worry us. Both these visitors knew they could share their worries with us and that we would seriously ask God to intervene on their behalf. What a privilege we have here at The Bridge to model God’s heart of care and compassion even if we do not relate to our visitors' requests.

As the Holy Spirit continues to pierce the hearts of His people with His truth, we see visitors ask for prayer and ask questions (at their initiative) about detox and rehab opportunities.

A couple, who has known a staff member for a long time, feels safe at The Bridge because of their long-standing relationship. They asked for prayer for strength to enter a treatment program because they want to be well for their children. What is clear is that there is a desire for change, and hopelessness is falling off of them.

We thank God for their trust in us to pray for them and to guide them towards sobriety.

When we follow our mandate “to meet them where they’re at …” sometimes it feels like a slower process, but in doing so, we share the love of Jesus that brings transformation.
