ISP End of Year Celebration!

SAVE THE DATE!

Friday, May 16th, 11am-2pm

The International Student Program is hosting our annual end-of-year celebration on Friday, May 16th on the lawn next to the bookstore. Come join us for games and a BBQ lunch and mingle with your fellow students as we celebrate the end of the semester! You can also pick up your custom ISP graduation stole if you are walking at commencement.

End of Year Reminders

Check your Form I-20

If your Form I-20 is expiring on 5/23/2025, you must take action now! Your options are:

After your I-20 expires you will have a 60-day grace period to depart the U.S. Contact Becky if you have any questions.

Summer Vacation

Remember that Summer is your annual vacation and enrollment is optional for F-1 students. However, you must be enrolled in at least 3 units to work as a student employee. Summer Session classes begin on June 16th.

International Travel

Planning to travel this summer? Make sure your travel authorization is up to date, carry all important documents, and be mindful of digital content that could raise concerns at the border. If you have any criminal history, contact our office before you travel—visa revocation is a risk. Try to return to the U.S. during business hours in case CBP needs to verify your information. Safe travels!

Commencement Ceremony - Sat. 5/24

Save the date! Commencement is Saturday, May 24 at 9:00 AM on Bailey Field. Visit events.santarosa.edu/graduation-2025 for details on deadlines, regalia, tickets, and participation. Don't forget to apply for your degree if you haven't already and update your diploma address in your Student Portal. Congratulations to all of our graduates!!

CE Celebration - Fri. 5/23

If you are completing a certificate program in Spring 2025, Career Education is having their celebration on Friday, May 23rd at 5:00 PM. Find out more on their website.

International Club Elections

The International Club is hosting their final meetings of the semester and will have some open officer positions in Fall 2025. If you are interested in a student leadership role, email international@santarosa.edu or DM the club Instagram.

Important Reminders

If you are ready to transfer to another school, you must submit the Transfer-Out Request Form to maintain your F-1 status.

Final Exams are May 17th-May 23rd
Final grades are due May 30th

Also, May is Asian American Pacific Islander Month! Much love to all of our students!

Meet Gretchen!

Hi, I am Gretchen an International student from the Philippines. I worked as a financial advisor back home before moving to the US. I followed my passion of educating young children after realizing during the COVID-19 pandemic that life is short. I’m majoring in early childhood education with the goal of becoming a teacher or eventually having my own school. I enjoy traveling, and l’ve gone to a few Asian countries. During my free time, I love going out with my friends, doing water sports activities, or explore other states in the US. I adore this quote: “Find a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”
