CHAIR MESSAGE
Tom Reif
The Alera Group
I hope spring is off to a great start for everybody. Maybe we will get some sunshine too, but we need the April showers to bring May flowers. We have a busy month in May. The Annual Golf Outing is taking place on May 13th at Seven Bridges Golf Club. There is still room to come out and join this fun event. If you would like to join the last planning meeting for the Golf Outing, it is taking place on May 6th. There are a lot of opportunities to maximize your Chamber membership. One of those opportunities is by getting involved in the Chamber Committees. We have our Government Affairs Committee meeting on May 14th and our Ambassador Committee meeting on May 30th. Another opportunity is by joining the Lisle Area Leads group which is free with your Chamber membership. The Lisle Area Leads group meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 4:30 p.m. The meetings taking place at different Chamber member businesses. This month’s meeting is on May 21st at Operation Support Our Troops America. Visit the Chamber website to see the monthly meetings and events.
Thank you to everyone who has joined our committees, help plan events, volunteers, event sponsors, attending Chamber events, shopped local and taken part to help the Lisle Area business community thrive. Let’s all work together and make this a great spring and summer!
Sincerely,
Tom Reif

AMBASSADOR SPOTLIGHT
Dr. Victoria Koenig
Best Life Chiropractic
This month’s featured Ambassador is Dr. Victoria Koenig, owner of Best Life Chiropractic. Victoria joined the Chamber in November 2024 and immediately became involved in the Chamber. In addition to being on the Ambassador Committee, Victoria is also on the Downtown Business Council Committee. She enjoys being an Ambassador because it gives her the opportunity to help, support, and connect with new people. It’s inspiring to learn about their passions and the amazing work they’re doing. Being involved has helped her get out into the community, build relationships, and grow both her personally and professionally – and it’s been a lot of fun along the way.
Victoria is proud to own and operate Best Life Chiropractic in the heart of downtown Lisle – right at the corner of Main Street and Burlington Avenue. She has been in this field for 7 years and she continues to love it! Victoria is all about helping our community live their best, healthiest lives! As the owner and chiropractor at her practice, she truly does it all – from patient care to running the business behind the scenes. Her primary duties include providing chiropractic adjustments, offering wellness consultations, managing daily operations, connecting with the community, and making sure every patient feels like part of the family. It’s a lot – but she wouldn’t have it any other way!
Victoria lives in Lisle and while she doesn’t have any kids of her own, she is the fun aunt to seven wonderful nieces – spoiling them is one of her favorite hobbies! She loves traveling, experiencing different cultures, playing tennis, and finding any excuse to be outside soaking up the fresh air. Her favorite bits of wisdom to impart are “Do what you love. Be Kind. Live your Best Life!”

“Call if you can, text if you can’t.”
DuPage Public Safety Communications (DU-COMM) provides public safety communications services to Police, Fire, and EMS agencies within DuPage County and serves as the dispatch center for the Village of Lisle.
DU-COMM’s Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) now accepts emergency texts to 9-1-1 from individuals who need immediate assistance but are unable to talk to a 9-1-1 dispatcher. Anyone in the Village of Lisle’s as well as in DU-COMM’s jurisdiction within DuPage County whose cell phone uses Verizon, AT&T or T-Mobile’s networks can text their exact location and the nature of their emergency to 911, and a dispatcher will respond.
It is still preferred that citizens call 9-1-1, if possible, because calling is faster and more reliable. Using Text to 9-1-1 in an emergency might be helpful for individuals needing emergency assistance who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have a speech disability, or are suffering a medical emergency that has rendered them unable to speak. It can also be used in situations where it is not safe to place a voice call to 9-1-1.
If there is an emergency and you are unable to make a voice call, follow these steps to text 9-1-1:
- Know your location – Type your exact location as soon as possible.
- Text what you need – Text what emergency help is needed: police, fire, and/or emergency medical.
- Be clear – Send a short message without abbreviations, slang, emojis, photos or video attachments.
- Stay calm – Answer questions and follow instructions from the 911 call taker.
Please remember that texting 9-1-1 is for emergencies only. Misuse of the service, similar to making a fake 9-1-1 call, is against the law.
How to Text 9-1-1
- Enter the numbers “911” in the “To” or “Recipient” field.
- The first text to 911 should include the location of the emergency and the type of help needed.
- Push the “Send” button.
- Be prepared to answer questions and follow instructions from the 911 call taker.
- Text in simple words – no abbreviations, slang or emojis.
- Keep text messages short.
For additional information regarding the Text to 9-1-1 service in DuPage County, please visit the DuPage Public Safety Communications (DU-COMM) Website.

Executive Director Message
Jill Eidukas
The Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce would like to acknowledge our Office Manager, Claudine Rummer for her 10-year anniversary. Claudine has a how can I help attitude, hard worker, creative writer and photographer, organized beyond belief and she is always welcoming our members with a smile. Thank you, Claudine for your 10 years of dedication to the Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce.
Networking opportunities are everywhere. You no longer must leave your house to be able to network, but studies now show that online networking doesn’t hold the same power as in-person networking. Networking is critical to landing a job, learning about opportunities before they are announced and getting more sales for your business in just one lead at a networking event.
One of the easiest most effective networking groups is the Chamber. The Chamber does more than just introduce you to other business owners. It offers very strong networking tools and opportunities. Here are several things you probably didn’t know about how you can improve your business networking with chamber membership.
1. In person events from formal networking, expo tables, ribbon cuttings, Business After Hours. Host an event and showcase your business location and enjoy all the social media network advertising, website, and e-blasts marketing.
2. Membership is not just for the owner of the business. The chamber membership is for all of the employees. A company can use chamber learning resources to help its employees learn more about timely topics like social media and communications. Under the fair share pricing structure that is based on number of employees, the company is paying the same price regardless who uses the chamber’s services.
3. The chamber offers business expos, golf outings, 5K’s and social events that your business can sponsor. Within the committees of our chamber there is a lot of opportunity for mentoring and feedback.
4. The Chamber is not a part of the government entity or agency. The chamber is in the private sector and act as a connector in the community.
5. Many entrepreneurs think the chamber wouldn’t have any idea how to help them grow their business on Main Street. The Chamber is knowledgeable about what it takes to improve a business in today’s challenging markets. If the Chamber doesn’t have knowledge about your type of business and growth struggles, they know who to refer to you to members that can help.
