Welcome, Everyone

If you're reading a PTG member e-newsletter for the first time, welcome! You’re one of 155 new members that have joined since January 1. All those new faces mean new opportunities for introductions, education and sharing, which is why PTG exists. If any of you have questions or needs please get in touch with your chapter president, Regional Vice President, or the PTG Office. We’re here to help.

The Jack Wyatt Museum

Long-time PTG Member Jack Wyatt, RPT, passed away earlier this month. Wyatt was instrumental in creating the PTG Foundation Museum at the Home Office in Kansas City. The museum was named after him in 2005 and will remain a part of his legacy. A virtual tour is available and visitors are always welcome.

Piano Jobs at Convention

Looking for a job? Looking to fill open or soon to be open positions? Let us help you connect during the 2025 PTG Convention and Technical Institute. We’ll have a dedicated bulletin board where job seekers and employers can post their information. There are no cost or registration requirements, but if you are interested in participating, we’d like to know. Please send a note to shawn@ptg.org or kathy@ptg.org.

Using Outreach Materials to Grow Your Chapter

Wondering why you’ve got people asking you about getting started in a piano technology career? Are you wondering how to respond? We’ve got answers. PTG is starting to see positive results from the Membership Outreach and Retention efforts. That means you might be seeing an increase in people interested in piano technology and the Piano Technicians Guild. As a chapter leader you might be wondering, “What do I do with them?” The PTG Marketing Committee and the PTG Chapter Health Committee have teamed up to bring you a checklist to help guide you and your fellow chapter members as PTG welcomes new faces and builds relationships. Visit the Membership Outreach & Retention site and view the new checklist. A big thanks to Committee Chairs Leeanna Queen, RPT and Daniel Haubert, RPT for their help in putting this together.

Take the Journal Survey!

If you haven’t already done so, the Piano Technicians Journal staff is looking for your input to help shape the future of the magazine. Take the survey.

What's in the May 2025 Journal?

  •  Action Geometry Demystified, Part 1:The Jack
