Music is in the air this spring. Cristiana Pegoraro will soon return to SAS to present her version of Vivaldi’s famous Four Seasons in an original multimedia, innovative performance, combining an unpublished transcription for piano with Vivaldi's own sonnets that were the genesis of his musical opus. For a completely immersive experience of the sounds and images and atmosphere that inspired Vivaldi, the concert incorporates an original and fascinating video projection by internationally renowned photographer Mino La Franca. The evocative landscapes of the regions of Italy will accompany this journey through time, nature, and music. In this modern interpretation of Vivaldi, Pegoraro demonstrates that baroque music is timeless, alive, and relevant.

CRISTIANA PEGORARO is an Italian pianist and composer. Called “an artist of the highest caliber” by the New York Times, she has performed at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, the Sydney Opera House and other international venues and has recorded many CDs. She regularly conducts master classes across the United States (including at the Juilliard School), and in Italy, Portugal and the Middle East. She is the author of a series of children’s books based on Italian operas.
