CRAAG's May 2026

Autism-Friendly Social Events Calendar

Welcome to this month's selected social engagements in the Autism-Friendly Social Events Calendar. CRAAG volunteers created this Calendar to fill a need for information about social engagement opportunities for adults with autism and developmental disabilities (DD). To subscribe to the CRAAG newsletter and to learn more about how to support our community, email craag1@gmail.com. Our mission is to raise awareness and enhance the quality of life for people with autism and DD and their families in the Region Ten CSB area: Charlottesville City, and Albemarle, Greene, Fluvanna, Louisa and Nelson counties.

In last month's Calendar, we asked for readers to respond to a quick emoji survey. Only a very small number of people responded. Even so, 61% of them want us to continue publishing this Calendar. We were hoping for more responses to prioritize our initiatives. Please click on one emoji below. It's quick and easy and will help CRAAG tremendously. Thank you.

Should we keep publishing the Calendar?

About CRAAG

Established in 2010 in collaboration with Commonwealth Autism, CRAAG is a non-partisan, volunteer-run autism advocacy group. CRAAG’s mission is to raise awareness and enhance the quality of life for people with autism, developmental disabilities (DD), and their families in the Region Ten CSB area of Charlottesville City, Albemarle, Greene, Fluvanna, Louisa and Nelson counties. The local Autism-Friendly Social Events Calendar was created by CRAAG volunteers.

Active CRAAG supporters are family members or caregivers of adults with autism or other DDs, as well as self-advocates and professionals who serve our population. Our mission focuses on expanding community-based housing options and supports, criminal justice reform, and opportunities for meaningful employment, education, social connections, and community engagement.

In 2025 CRAAG became one of 16 founding member organizations of the new Virginia Autism Coalition, a Commonwealth-wide coalition open to autism advocacy and provider organizations.
