Solarize Delco launches solar grant program for nonprofits

Solarize Delco, a nonprofit solar education and advocacy organization serving Delaware County, has launched a community grant program to help local nonprofit organizations go solar with grants to cover 50% of the costs of installation up to $20,000 per organization.

New sections join Delco’s growing network of walking, hiking and biking trails

Two new walking trails have opened this spring in Delaware County and a 7.2 mile “cycling corridor” along Chester Pike will be opened May 30 to add to the county’s inventory of opportunities to get out of our cars and into the great outdoors.

Brandywine Conservancy announces $100 million Expansion

The Brandywine Conservancy, which owns the Brandywine Museum of Art where the Wyeth family’s paintings are on permanent exhibit, has announced a $100 million expansion that will include a second museum, hundreds of acres of new public gardens and 10 miles of walking and biking trails.

Benzene vapors from Monroe fuel spill displaces Bethel family


May 4, 2026

MIPC LLC, which operates the Chelsea aviation fuel tank farm in Aston, has temporarily relocated a Bethel family living near the farm’s western fenceline due to “vapor intrusion” into the house. It is evaluating a second home for the same issue.

6th Annual Environmental Justice March was held on Saturday, May 2

CRCQL held its 6th annual Environmental Justice Day March and Caravan, Saturday May 2 at 11:30 AM. Caravan means those who cannot walk the 2.5-mile march route drive in their cars behind the marchers.

Delaware Riverkeeper Network seeks to join suit DHS has filed against state DEP


April 17, 2026

The Delaware Riverkeeper Network has filed a petition to intervene in a lawsuit the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has brought against the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, after DEP notified ICE that it could not operate two large warehouse facilities as immigrant detention centers without addressing environmental concerns.
