NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER
Since 1952, all US presidents have proclaimed the first Thursday of May to be a National Day of Prayer. All are invited to the 75th celebration of the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at 6:00pm next to the War Memorials at the Salisbury Town Hall. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held across the street in the Congregational Church. Members of the town will offer prayers for government, schools, businesses, arts/media, churches, families, military/veterans, as well as fire, police, and emergency responders. Come join your fellow townspeople at this community event.

Each year about 850 million gallons of architectural paint are sold in the United States. Did you know that about 10 percent goes unused and can be reused and recycled?
Connecticut’s paint stewardship law requires the paint manufacturing industry to operate a financially sustainable and environmentally responsible program to manage postconsumer (leftover) architectural paint. Paint manufacturers created PaintCare,a nonprofit organization, to run paint stewardship programs in states with applicable laws. For further information use this link: (https://www.paintcare.org/states/connecticut/)
The program includes education about buying the right amount of paint, tips for using up remaining paint, and setting up convenient recycling locations throughout the state.
Salisbury and Sharon residents with current stickers can bring leftover paint to the Salisbury/Sharon Transfer Station. The drop off location is just inside the door of the building opposite the metal box and the C&D box. There is red sign above the door indicating paint collection area. Use the call box at the door if you need to speak to someone on staff. If you use a commercial hauler, you will have paid the user fee through your hauler and you are entitled to a sticker which can be obtained at your Town Hall.
