River Cities Intergroup is made up of AA groups from the Tri-State area (AZ, CA, and NV). The second Monday of each month is the Central Office Intergroup meeting.

The Twelve Concepts and
Our Shared Service Work
The Twelve Concepts help explain how service in AA works — who makes decisions, how responsibility is shared, and how trusted servants support the Fellowship.
They remind us that AA belongs to the groups. Service bodies exist to help groups, not to direct them, and group conscience keeps everything connected and accountable.
Throughout 2026, we’ll look at one Concept each month to better understand how our service structure works and how every group plays a part.
Concept V
“Throughout our structure, a traditional ‘Right of Appeal’ ought to prevail, so that minority opinion will be heard and personal grievances receive careful consideration.”
Concept V reminds us that every voice matters — especially the ones we might not agree with.
In AA service, majority decisions help us move forward, but minority voices help keep us honest. The “Right of Appeal” ensures that different perspectives are heard, considered, and respected before final decisions are made.
This isn’t about slowing things down — it’s about making better decisions. When people feel heard, trust grows, unity strengthens, and service stays aligned with our principles.
Concept V encourages us to listen with openness, speak with respect, and remain willing to reconsider when needed.

Hey friends,
As we move into May, there’s a natural shift that seems to happen.
After busy seasons, heavy moments, or times where we’ve just been pushing through, we’re given a chance to pause… to breathe… and to come back to ourselves.
Recovery reminds us that we don’t have to do everything all at once. We don’t have to have it all figured out. We simply take the next right step — and trust that it’s enough.
Sometimes “stepping into the light” doesn’t look big or dramatic.
Sometimes it’s just showing up to a meeting.
Reaching out to someone.
Being honest when it would be easier not to be.
That’s where the shift happens.
As we continue forward together, especially with the excitement building around River
Round-Up, we’re reminded that none of us walk this path alone. Connection, service, and willingness are what keep us moving forward.
Thank you for being part of this community. Thank you for showing up — just as you are.
