What follows below is adapted from other newsletters about Pluto stationing retrograde, but the dates and degrees are different.
Planets that station retrograde are slowed up in their orbit as experienced from earth, and the planets that are inferior, or closer to the Sun than Earth (Mercury and Venus), form a conjunction with the Sun midway through their retrograde cycle, while planets that are superior, farther from the Sun than Earth (Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto), form an opposition with the Sun midway through the retrograde cycle.
Since Pluto moves slowly, and retrogrades occur for 5 ½ months each year, as seen above, it stays at a certain degree for a few weeks before it actually stations (stands still) as retrograde or direct. That means that often during the 2 weeks before or after the retrograde and direct station, and around the date when Pluto is midway through the retrograde cycle and opposite the Sun, more "Plutonian" events occur than usual. Pluto keywords are: intensity, power, transformation, death and rebirth. This can mean meteorological changes that shake the world, or government shifts, which can be elections, installing another party in power, or leaders stepping down, or even passing away either naturally or through violence. It can simply mean revolutions, overthrows, and battles in which the present order is being challenged. It also means that there might be an event happening for many months, but around the Pluto station, or opposition with the Sun, it either manifests, reaches a breaking point, or even reaches a stalemate, but it has to do with power and change, one way or another. There may be things happening that simply shake things up but since Pluto will be at that degree when it eventually moves direct, it tells us the significance of the planetary station.
On a positive note, Pluto transforms, transforms, transforms. It causes us to dig down deep and get in touch with all the things we want to clean out, change, and make a new start. But it takes time, and once we can dig down deep, we can rise to the highest heights. But it always comes with great introspection, and often difficulty along the way, since it means that you will change something and change is always hard since you have to leave something behind. But what happens at the end, is like finding that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
This also means that the degree on which it retrogrades, as you see above, will have a strong effect in your chart, if it conjoins a planet, point, or angle in your chart. (Scroll down below.) First let us look at what happened in the world that may have to do with the Pluto station, at least in part, due to the fact that so much else is happening in the sky along with the Pluto transit.
Pluto stations retrograde on May 6, as we see above, but because it moves so slowly, it is within a degree of the stationary degree between approx. February 28, as it moves direct, and July 31, when it is still retrograde but within a degree of the stationary degree. We can see that the past few months have been intense, especially in the United States, with the war in Iran starting on February 28, affecting the oil and gas markets, and causing a dramatic rise in gas prices. We also saw the Hungarian election where Orban conceded his loss on April 13, 2026. And on Saturday evening April 25, 2026, there was a thwarted assassination attempt on President Trump and his cabinet. Yes it is a long stretch or time, and the most important life transforming events that are defined by what Pluto represents will occur most intensely the week before and after the retrograde station, which defines issues and conditions that have to be dealt with. This means between about April 29-May 14. So we just need to keep an eye on very intense events, both positive or negative that take place in this time period.
