We were proud to host Mayor Mamdani, Chris Hayes and the MS NOW team for their “All In America” Special as the Mayor discussed his first 100 days yesterday. Being selected as the site for this conversation is an important moment of recognition for the work our entire team does to celebrate families, education, and the culture of the Bronx.

There’s a specific kind of magic in seeing the Museum, a space designed to inspire the next generation of innovators, serve as the backdrop for national civic discourse about community improvement and development. BxCM is a hub where technology, art, and community voice intersect. Seeing the space lit up for a national audience is a great reminder that the energy we're putting into this space is being felt on a much larger scale.

On April 15, BxCM celebrated the enduring legacy of Jackie Robinson, the first African American to play in Major League Baseball. Families explored the new digital layer added to our Exhibiting Possibilities Sensory Gallery, using WebAR to "scout" hidden digital baseball cards and legendary stories. Little sluggers also headed to the Cloud for our Jr. Sluggers Academy, a movement workshop where they practiced their swing and throwing form, building confidence and coordination.

Children also designed and wore their own #42 badges to honor Jackie’s history-changing number. Families were encouraged to visit the Legendary Yankees murals across the street to see the impact of Black baseball role models in our own community. It was a powerful day of learning how every legend starts somewhere.
