PSYCHOANALYTIC DISPATCHES

May 2026

Greetings!

It's Kentucky Derby week here in Louisville, and I'll admit it — this is my favorite time of year. Locals are treating it like a staycation, out-of-towners are dressed to the nines, and the whole city has a little extra energy that's intoxicating (pun intended).

I'm passing some of that excitement along with this month's edition of Dispatches. May is a busy one for APsA, so I'll flag a few things right away: the Membership Experience Survey closes today (May 1), and several award and funding opportunities are due now or in the coming weeks. Keep reading for details.

I also hope you'll join us at the Town Hall on May 3 and mark your calendar for May 4, when registration opens for what is now officially the Summer Symposium. Rounding out this issue: recent member initiatives, a new episode of Psychoanalysis & You, and a fresh video interview series from JAPA.

But before I let you go, if you're not receiving Listserv messages, or want to adjust which communications you receive, you can update your preferences by logging in to your APsA member account.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm raising a mint julep to you! I hope you find a moment to watch the races this weekend and celebrate with me from afar.

Cheers,

Sam Hall, Communications Manager
