OUR MISSION:
St. Rita School inspires students in Pre-Kindergarten through grade eight to achieve academic excellence in a safe, nurturing and faith-filled Catholic environment.
We prepare students to be morally responsible, innovative thinkers who, in today’s technology-guided global community, live and share the Love of Christ.
FROM THE DESK OF MRS. TIEZZI

Dear St. Rita Parents and Guardians,

Today we celebrate the feast day of our patron saint, St. Rita. Rita was born in 1381 in Cascia, Italy. As a young girl she requested to enter the convent but was forced to marry. Rita and her husband raised two children together until his untimely death and the death of both her children. At that time Rita entered the Augustinian convent and gave herself over to prayer. Sr. Rita was canonized by Pope Leo XIII in 1900. In honor of the feast of St. Rita,  today at lunchtime all students and staff will have a popsicle treat. St. Rita, pray for us.

Thank you to all who attended the H.S.A. Wine and Cheese Volunteer Appreciation Social last week. Special thanks are extended to the outgoing HSA board members for their hard work in organizing and running the various fundraising events over this past year. Working together our school is close to meeting our fundraising goal of $115,000. To date your tremendous efforts helped reduce actual tuition costs by about $300 per student.

Our final fundraiser of the year is our annual golf tournament. There is still time for you to register to play and help us meet our 2018-2019 fundraising goal.  Our 22nd Annual Golf Tournament will take place on Monday, June 4 at the New Haven Country Club. The cost is $225. per golfer and questions regarding the tournament may be addressed to STRITAGOLF@GMAIL.COM. Thank you for your support of this event.

Field Day will be held on Tuesday, June 4 at Bassett Park. Last week two handouts were sent home for this event.  Virtus trained volunteers are needed to assist with the various activities. Your assistance is needed to make this event a success. Please be sure you return the bottom half of the permission slip to indicate how your child will be dismissed from Field Day.

Thank you to all our brave and patriotic parents and grandparents who have served our country in the various military branches. Please take some time this weekend to honor our veterans.  School will be closed on Monday, May 27 for Memorial Day. May you have safe travels and a happy Memorial Day. Thank you for entrusting your child/ren to our care.

God Bless,

Mrs. Tiezzi
