A Message from Our VP of Academics and Ed Tech

To The Carondelet Community,

It is a bittersweet Sunday as we had Graduation yesterday and said goodbye to an amazing group of seniors. The Class of 2023 was accepted to 227 colleges and universities. They will attend 89 different schools in the fall and we wish them well as we welcome them into our prestigious Alumnae Association that is now more than 12,000 members strong.

The rest of our students have one last week to go! We have finals to look forward to this week before everyone gets a well-needed break! Hopefully everyone can have a restful weekend to be ready for the final push. Grades will be locked in May 31, 2023. It will take a couple of weeks to deal with any corrections and updates to make space for honors credits, math placement, or any pre-approved late submissions that result in a grade change.

Preliminary schedules will be sent the week of June 12 in waves to avoid issues with daily email limits starting with rising seniors. Students will have access at that time to the schedule change request sheet if they want to make a change. Those requests will be collected and processed mid July.

Lots to look forward to in the next couple of weeks!

Elizabeth Chaponot, Ph.D.

Vice Principal of Academics and Ed Tech

Class of 2023 Families

You will receive important messages from the school from this account. Please do not unsubscribe. We ask you to stay subscribed so we can be in touch.

Epicurean Cafe Update

For returning students, MySchoolBucks funds will rollover to next school year. Students/families who are not returning can contact Epicurean directly for a refund of their remaining balance. This is a friendly reminder to treat your school lunch account pin as if it were a bank account pin. Please do not share codes with friends or classmates or use your code to buy food for others. Questions? Please contact Candace Barnes, Cafe Manager.

Locker Clean Out

Classes of ‘24, ‘25, and ‘26 are required to clean out their lockers before Thursday, May 25. Students will be keeping their locks over the summer and reusing them next school year. Questions? Reach out to Alexis Bustamante, Assistant Dean of Students.

Open Parking

With our seniors officially off campus, all driving students may park on campus. There will be open spaces in our S Lot on a first come, first served basis. These spaces are marked in red on the map below. Please do not park in the covered garage, visitor parking, or the C Lot, as these spaces are typically reserved for staff and visitors.

Morning Shuttle Service 2023-24

The morning shuttle service will continue, resuming at the beginning of the 2023-24 school year. Morning shuttle service is filled on a first-come, first-served basis at $1,200 per year and is billed through your tuition payments. Communal pick-up locations are in Livermore, Pleasanton, and Danville. This service is offered exclusively to our Carondelet students and their De La Salle siblings who sign up before June 30. After that, we open the service to DLS students until the fus is full. If you are interested in this service please click this link to sign up

Attendance & Final Exams

Students are expected to attend class for their final exams at the end of the semester. There are no make-up exam options for semester two. Please plan any unexcused absences around these important dates. Students who are unexpectedly ill must proactively communicate with each of their teachers to ensure that they are able to close out the semester appropriately. All students are responsible for all coursework, including final exams, projects, and presentations.

Treat Construction Work

Treat Boulevard Road Project

In preparation for a larger summer project, the city has started road work on Treat Boulevard. They have agreed to limit activity in our neighborhood between the hours of 7:00 AM and 1:00 PM.

The next few weeks are mostly exploratory and preparatory in nature. They need to locate existing utilities, which will require the closure of one lane. They also plan to start some of the curb cutting for ADA compliance and tree trimming. There will be flagmen assisting drivers coming in and out of the high school driveways during lane closures.

The city is aware of our school schedule and is trying to work with us on minimizing the impact for the next few weeks while trying to keep on schedule so they are out of our way this fall. If you are driving to campus, please give yourself plenty of time to avoid any potential delays due to this road work. You can get up-to-date information from the city's website here.
