SPOTLIGHT ON BELVEDERE GOLF CLUB
Belvedere Golf Club has been part of the fabric of northern Michigan since 1925.

Rated the #1 Classic Course in Michigan by Golf Week Magazine for the last 8 years, Belvedere has hosted the Michigan Amateur Championship a record 40 times and is the future host in 2025.  Belvedere is a place where you can walk the same footsteps and experience the same course where historic legends gathered.  Bobby Jones, Walter Hagen, Gene Sarazen, Tommy Armour, Horton Smith, Denny Shute, Sam Snead, Julius Brown, Tom Watson and many others have all been part of the unique history of this special golf club.

In 2017, the historic club "turned back the clock" and restored the popular course through green expansions and bunker design bringing back many of the strategies that Course Architect, William Watson originally intended.

Belvedere offers a golf experience that is different from today's modern golf courses.  With a "Minimalist" design, this is pure golf as it was meant to be played.

Belvedere Golf Club is open for guest play daily and offers excellent greens rates and season tickets for such an enjoyable experience.

For rates and additional information please visit belvederegolfclub.com

FREE HEART SCREENING FOR TEENS
A FREE Heart Screen for teenagers, grades 9-12 on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, from 3:00-6:00pm at CrossFit Petoskey located at 345 N. Division Road.

The free heart screenings are provided by a team of health care professionals from CrossFit Petoskey, Northern Michigan Sports Medicine Center & Michigan Heart & Vascular Specialists from McLaren Northern Michigan.

Even teens who seem perfectly healthy may have hidden heart problems.  Though the percentage is small, kids with undetected heart defects are at risk of sudden cardiac arrest.  A simple screening can detect conditions such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, the most common cause of sudden death in athletes.

Led by cardiologist Dr. Ricci and his team from Michigan Heart and Vascular Specialists, this 10-15 minute screening is designed for student athletes and otherwise active youth.  Heart Screenings will be completed by a Cardiologist and will include:  Medical History, Blood Pressure Check, EKG, Physician Consultation, Echocardiogram (if required).  A physician  will go over the results with you and your teen at the screening, and you'll have time to ask questions.

Pre-Registration is required.  Please call 1.800.248.6777 to register.
This screening does not take the place of the sports physical typically required for young athletes.
Parents, please attend with your child if they are a minor.
