Monroe Christian School's annual business (society) meeting will be Wednesday, May 26th, at 7:00 p.m. at New Hope Fellowship.
This is a time for parents to hear updates, meet and vote on Board member nominees, and review next year's budget. See the attached explanation about the MCS society and how you can be a part. (Hint: as a parent, you just show up to the meeting!) Monroe Christian School Society
PARENT / TEACHER CONFERENCES

Emails went out last week with a scheduled conference time for each student, Kindergarten through 8th grade. Please confirm your conference time by replying to the email or you can request a different time.
Just a reminder that these are 15-minute conferences. Please be sure to arrive on time to make the most of your allotted time. If you find that you need more time with the teacher, please request an additional meeting for a future date. Thank you for respecting the 15-minute timeslot so teachers can provide the same individual attention to each child’s parents.

COVID EXPOSURE NOTE

With the weather getting nicer and the end of the school year approaching, it is easy to want to relax on the rules the school has implemented for this year. In recent weeks, MCS has seen an increase in the number of students who have been exposed to someone with COVID. We are extremely lucky that our families have been diligent about keeping their children home when anybody in the family has been experiencing symptoms. This diligence has helped our school remain open completely this year and we ask that parents continue to abide by the rules for the remainder of the school year.

POLICY
  • Fever (100.2 without the use of fever reducing medication)
  • Vomiting, nausea, or diarrhea
If anybody in the family has any of the symptoms above, please keep all children home for 48 hours after symptoms have subsided.

Please keep children home if they have any of the following symptoms:
  • Coughing
  • Shortness of breath
  • Loss of taste or smell
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Congestion
MOMS PRAYER GROUP

The Moms in Prayer group meets every Monday at 9am in the MCS library. This group provides a good way for moms to connect with other moms, support each other, and most importantly pray together. This is a very open and welcoming group. Feel free to share as much or as little as you would like, ask for prayers, or simply sit with us to enjoy the love and support of other moms in the same stage of life.
We understand schedule constraints so please feel free to come when you are able.
We look forward to meeting you and praying with you!
FREE & EASY WAYS TO HELP THE SCHOOL

There are many ways you can help the school that are free and easy.

  • Matching Employer Funds - Many larger employers offer matching funds when their employees donate to the school through their portals. Check with your employer to see what they may offer!
  • General Mills Box Tops for Education - Save Box Tops from all participating products, then drop off the accumulated clipped Box Tops in the school office or submit them digitally.
  • Fred Meyer Rewards - Link Monroe Christian School to your Fred Meyers Rewards card through the "Community Rewards" setting and a percentage of your eligible purchases will go directly to MCS. If you have already designated MCS as your Community Reward, please take a minute and check if it is still active. (The community reward must be renewed yearly.)
  • AmazonSmile - Amazon will donate 0.5% of the price of your eligible purchases to MCS. Simply go to smile.amazon.com to get setup.
  • Office Depot - Use our school ID #70106855 when making purchases at Home Depot and we will receive credit towards future purchases.
  • Rite Aid - RXfundraising and Rite Aid are willing to give a portion of every dollar spent on prescriptions and purchases made at Rite Aid to support our school. Register your Rite Aid card with RXfundraising and choose - "support MCS".

UPDATED SCHOOL CALENDAR

We have made some updates to the school calendar.

Our scripture theme for this year is based on Hebrews 11:1-3
"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for. By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible."
