Administrative Information
Reminder: No School

This is a friendly reminder that there is no school tomorrow, Friday, May 27, or on Monday, May 30. Enjoy a long weekend!
Board Election Results

With just over 180 ballots cast and a participation rate of just under 25%, the board election results are in! This year we had four candidates for three open seats. In no particular order, the three board members elect are:
  • Andrew Thompson (community member)
  • Kelly Laudon (parent, returning board member)
  • Kristin Helling (parent, returning board member)
The board would also like to thank Dianne Bell for running this year. Each candidate had great qualifications that would have added to the board, yet we only had three open positions, so we are grateful for her efforts and commitment to the school and our students.

Additionally, TCGIS thanks Rob Hennelly for his service on the TCGIS school board. As he rolls off the board, we hope he stays involved, sharing his wealth of experience with our school.
Re-Enrollment Survey: Action Requested

Please fill out this form by Thursday, June 9. This form helps us plan for next school year more efficiently. Your participation is greatly appreciated!
Get Ready to Celebrate

It's time to celebrate an awesome year! Our annual End of the Year Picnic is from 11:30am-1:30pm on Thursday, June 9. To accommodate the growing size of our school we have chosen to simplify the menu for this year's picnic. We invite families to join for a lunch of hotdogs, fruits/veggies, chips, and cold treat! A suggested donation of $2/non-student is encouraged. We will collect donations at the picnic.

We're looking for volunteers to help make this event a big success. Click here to sign-up for a volunteer spot.
Please contact Lauren Kalish with any questions.
Reminder to Pick Up Medication

This is a reminder that all medication at school must be picked up at the end of the year.

There are 3 options of when you can pick up your child's medication:
1. June 9 at the End of the Year Picnic (11:30am-1:30pm) when you sign your child out at the info table.
2. June 9 from 4-6pm from the Kinderclub staff member at a table in the foyer
3. June 10 from 8am-3pm in the front office.

Any medications not picked up by 3pm on June 10 will be discarded.
Supply Donation

TCGIS annually requests that families make a $75 per child supply donation, and donations have been down this year. Some have asked why this is requested when families bring in supplies from a list provided at the start of the school year. This donation helps cover the extra costs compared to other schools resulting from our German curriculum, including disposable Hefte (workbooks) that the school purchases. If you haven't already and would like to make a donation, please do so in the front office. We appreciate your support in helping provide our students with high quality German educational materials! Checks can be made out to TCGIS, or you can pay through Order Lunches. It is labeled as "supply fee" on Order Lunches.
Parent Portal Closed Today to June 9

The Parent Portal of Powerschool is closed for teachers to enter their final grades and comments. The portal will open again on Thursday, June 9.

For year end grading, all K-4 students will receive a certificate of promotion to the next grade level. Middle school students will receive a "Zeugnis", or report card. Certificates are being distributed by homeroom teachers.

Don't Let Your Box Tops Expire

Many Box Tops are set to expire on June 1. Please don't let them go to waste! More Box Tops means more cash for our school! Don't forget to ask friends and family for their Box Tops too!
Middle School Creates Public Art

Watch the green graffiti grow on the school building! 7th and 8th grade art students designed large scale MN, Germany and World maps and decorative stencils to paint the brick walls with moss paint - that will hopefully grow in over the next weeks. 5th graders colored doodle stones to hide in interesting spots on the school grounds for others to find. Next week 6th graders will complete their "yarn bombs" on the chain link fences - 3D words and installations made with yarn woven through the fencing and for the school community to enjoy.
