Fetal Pig Dissections
Dissections are an essential part of understanding how individual organ systems are integrated within an organism. This year the 8
grade students worked in pairs to dissect fetal pigs.
are excellent organisms for students to study due to the fact that their organ systems are extremely similar to humans. Each student researched a surgery of their choice prior to dissections and over the course 1.5 hours the students harvested all the major organs and conducted their first surgeries.
