Happy Ascension Day! If you are reading this on Thursday May 26, Ascension Day is the 40th day of Easter. In the United States it is a day not often celebrated, because it never falls on a Sunday. At Jesus’ ascension we encounter Jesus saying “good-bye” once again. How difficult is it for you to say good-bye? How hard is it for you to leave someone?

We know however, Jesus does not leave them abandoned!

Gracious God, You are with us in all the in-between times. When we wait, when we have to say good-bye, when we are uncertain…help us to remember and truly know you are present and with us always! Amen
