Summer Vacation is Here!
Dear Forest Hills Families…

Tomorrow is the last day of ‘the craziest school year ever’. I will be forever grateful for your support, kindness, and compassion as we navigated all the learning models and COVID-19 protocols. In my opinion, our families, our students and our staff are considered heroes. As a team, we did the unimaginable and served as both teachers and learners throughout the year. Now, it is time to take a breath, spend some time with our families and friends, and engage in mindful moments and times for self-care. I wish each of you a safe and pleasant summer! May you stay healthy and enjoy the sunshine the months ahead bring us.

With Sincere Gratitude,

Connie Hytjan
Forest Hills Elementary Principal
Important Forest Hills Information

End of the Year Events…links for the Celebration of Learning and Walk of Honor will be sent to families via Constant Contact tomorrow.
A Special Thank You and Good-bye…please join me in wishing Jamie Thorfinnson, our administrative assistant and 30 year employee at Forest Hills, the very best of luck. June 30 is Jamie’s last day at Forest Hills as she is retiring to spend time with her grandchildren and vacation at their Beach Home in the Outer Banks. Throughout my tenure here, Jamie has been a very close colleague, my professional soulmate, and my biggest supporter. We will all miss her.
Farewell to our Grade 5 and 6 Students…As you know, Grade 6 is transitioning to CMS next year. This results in saying good-bye to two grade level cohorts. We will miss them and will forever consider you members of our Forest Hills School community.

Other Staff Leaving…Please join me in wishing the following staff members the best of luck as they transition to new opportunities, roles and chapters in their lives: Amanda Erisgen and Sharon Wadnal (special education paraprofessionals), Katie Little (clerical assistant and paraprofessional), and Kally Nord, Rachel Knutowski, Ashley Stevens and Jordan Peters (classroom teachers). Due to declining enrollment and a decrease of classroom sections, we are unable to have all of our present teachers return for the upcoming year.
