The leadership team met to discuss how we will move forward at Martin UMC. We decided that going forward, wearing a mask and social distancing will be optional for those who are fully vaccinated.
Those who have not been vaccinated are requested to
continue wearing masks and to maintain social distancing.
In addition, the right (west) side of the sanctuary,
the section in front of the piano is reserved for those who are
immuno-compromised or wish to remain
masked and socially distanced.
If you choose to sit in this section, we ask that you keep your mask on at all times out of love and respect for your neighbor.
If that section becomes full, we ask those who are physically able to overflow into the right side of the balcony. The choir will follow the same guidelines regarding social distancing and masks and will soon begin participating again in Sunday worship.
Last but not least, anyone working with youth or children must wear a mask, whether vaccinated or not.

All God’s Children
Martin’s new social-justice group, would like to alert you to opportunities to learn more about our region’s past and its future:
On Monday, May 31, at 8 p.m., KERA-TV (Channel 13) will air:
Tulsa: The Fire and the Forgotten, about the 1921 Tulsa race massacre.
Tulsa is marking the 100th anniversary of this horrific event that killed hundreds of Black residents, left 10,000 people homeless and destroyed a thriving business community that had become known nationally as “Black Wall Street.” No one was ever punished for these crimes, and many of us never learned of it in school.
All are invited to join the AGC group next week on June 1 at 7pm in the Apple Corp room to watch a documentary about Cafe Momentum located in Dallas.
This cafe is very unique.
Cafe Momentum provides a transformative experience through a 12 month paid post-release internship program for young men and women coming out of juvenile facilities. They rotate through all aspects of the restaurant, focusing on life and social skills, coaching and development.
Since January 2015, Cafe Momentum has worked with more than 750 young men and women through their 12-month internship program. They have seen firsthand that with the right support and care, they can achieve their true full potential.

Prefer to watch from home rather than in person?
