Staff Vaccination Data - Coming Soon
As previously reported, the Maine Department of Health and Human Services will now require all K-12 schools, public or private, to report monthly the percentage of staff who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Reporting began September 1, and all schools or school administrative units will have until September 10 to submit the total number of staff and the number of staff who were fully vaccinated as of August 31, 2021. The data will be publicly reported beginning September 15. The BSD is prepared to provide non-identifiable data to the Maine Department of Health and Human Services.
Vaccination Information

Third Shots: For those who are immunocompromised, third shots have been approved. For more information visit: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/recommendations/immuno.html

Mid Coast Vaccine Clinic has re-opened at 81 Medical Center Drive, Brunswick from 3- 5 PM. Walk-in for first, second, or third shots. When boosters are approved, they will require appointments. All details can be found online at: www.midcoasthealth.com/vaccine

There are community partners providing vaccines. If you need more information please visit, www.vaccine.gov to find the vaccine and hours that work for you.

Pediatric Clinic: When the age eligibility drops, the BSD is prepared to hold a regional pediatric clinic at Coffin School ASAP, and will also offer clinics at individual schools.  
Managing COVID-19 Reminder
Managing COVID-related quarantines is still an essential part of keeping our schools healthy and open. If someone in your household has tested positive for COVID-19, please contact your school nurse to determine your student's quarantine period.
Technology Update
Many individual students picked-up their Chromebooks this week. If students do not have the technology e-form signed, they can have a hard copy of the BSD Technology Handbook signed to give to the tech team when they stop in for pick-up. See below for a copy of the Technology Handbook.
School Lunch Benefit Application
We are calling on you to take action this school year by completing the Meal Benefits Application. Even though any family can participate in school meal programs at no cost, the family income data provided by completing the application informs key funding for academic resources that directly impact students in Brunswick. As a parent or caregiver, this application is one way you can invest in your student’s education.

New School Board Student Liaison
Welcome Ellie Sullivan
Ellie is a rising Junior at BHS and has said that she is “excited to be on the board and to have this opportunity to represent the student body”. Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Potenziano, stated, "Student liaisons have an important role acting as a conduit between all students and the school board and between the school board to students. I'm proud Brunswick embraces students to be a formal member of our board working on policy and procedures." We look forward to working with you and having you represent your fellow students as our liaison.
Employee Spotlight
Meet Holly Morgan, BCBA
Brunswick’s Special Education Department is excited to welcome Holly Morgan, Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), to its Team. Prior to her work as a BCBA, Holly served as the lead teacher in a self-contained program for students in grades K-5, as well as the lead developer of a behavior program for students in grades 6-8 in the Wiscasset School Department. Her extensive experience in the classroom contributes to her abilities to connect with students, staff, and families, and to develop behavior interventions that work effectively in the public school setting. Holly has already become a familiar face at our schools, and a “go-to” for staff and administrators alike!
