On the 100th anniversary of the Tulsa Massacre, during which hundreds of Black residents were killed and thousands more displaced by deputized white mobs…we know there is still so much work to be done. As rifts grow and racism is emboldened, how do we move ourselves not towards a complacent forgetfulness but instead to a committed & revolutionary love? How are we as people of faith called to listen, learn, and lead in the movement towards Beloved Community & collective liberation?

YOUR OPINION ABOUT ONLINE CHURCH COUNTS. The First Church Multi-Platform Church Survey is now available. REPARATIONS WORKSHOP POSTPONED. It's not quite time for UUs to talk about reparations. Based on recent discussions with some of our community partners, BLM2WUU is postponing its planned June 5 workshop on Reparations. We see that we have more work to do building additional community relationships, so that we can constructively contribute to the work of reparations in the Milwaukee community and more broadly. The resulting workshop will be much deeper and richer for taking the time to "move at the speed of trust" with these partners. Stay tuned for rescheduling information.
GUEST HOUSE MEAL CONTRIBUTIONS ON SATURDAY, JUNE 19. Thea and Geoff Watters are planning the Guest House evening meal on behalf of First Church for Saturday, June 19. Please help Guest House guests by contributing any of these foods: barbecue hamburger meat (sloppy joes), hamburger buns, fruit salad, or cookies. Due to the pandemic, we cannot serve at this time. The meal will be served by their staff. So please email Thea at to sign up and coordinate drop off. We have drop points at several church members' homes around town to make it close and convenient for you.

COVID CANDLE ON SUNDAYS. Because of the ways our lives are touched by loss and grief during the global pandemic, we have a simple ritual during Sunday worship called the “COVID Candle” when it is needed. During this unique time, when people cannot gather with their family and community to mourn, we offer to light the COVID Candle for any death of a loved one of one of our members. If you have had a loved one die from COVID-19, or any other cause of death, and would like the COVID Candle lit in their honor during Sunday worship, please contact one of the Ministers.
