This Weekly Update by the Illinois School and Campus Safety Program highlights the expanded and new topical areas on the Illinois School and Campus Safety Resource Center website and provides links to COVID-19 resources from the U.S Department of Education.

Updates to the Illinois School and Campus Safety Resource Center

In addition to the new pages on K-12 and Higher Ed Cybersecurity that we recently announced, as well as the COVID-19 Resources page, we have been adding new content and additional topical areas to the Illinois School and Campus Safety Resource Center website. Some topical areas now receiving their own pages include:

  • Gang Violence
  • Bomb Threats
  • Protests and Demonstrations
  • Active Shooter/Threat
  • Sexual Misconduct
  • Sextortion
  • Security
  • School Bus Safety
  • Field Trip Safety

Furthermore, many other topics have been expanded with additional resources added. We plan to continue expanding and adding more resources to the website in the days ahead and look forward to providing you with additional K-12 and Higher Ed safety-related content.
U.S. Department of Education Fact Sheets

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact student learning, the U.S. Department of Education has been releasing Fact Sheets and other resource documents to help provide guidance for schools and school personnel. Among the most recently released fact sheets are the " Fact Sheet: Providing Services to English Learners During the COVID-19 Outbreak" and the " Fact Sheet: Addressing the Risk of COVID-19 While Serving Migratory Children."
